  1. How are you guys handling useless recruits? I just got my 4th person who is really useless with 3 poor rating and 2 average.. Id use her as a medic/grendider but she cant hold anything before her speed goes to poor... are you guys dimissing troops or using them as cannon fodder?
  2. Some stupid questions 1. I have noticed that when I pause the game to remove a grenade or something from the troppers hands and put back a shotgun or some other weapon. once I toggle back to real time it never gets done.. what am I doing wrong? maybe because im in the middle of a waypoint move? 2. Is there a way to turn off the tropper speach whenever you click on one or it finishs a move? it gets annoying after a while 3. Does anyone else think the walk speed is too slow? it seems like it takes forever to get anywhere in these missions? 4. I have been ignoring some of the lower severity alerts on the geoscape.. is it normal for them to get delgated after a while? I get messages saying mission failed/won when I havent delgated that site. Thanks
  3. How do you use the Medipacks effectively. I put the medipack in the troppers arms them click the use icon/button.. doesnt seem to do anything.. How often are you rotating your tropps back to base for rest? Is there any detriment to going from mission to mission (other than restock ammo and healing?) And I cant seemt o get a hang of Grenades.. are they supposed to be on the left or right side of the weapn box.. I can get them to be thrown sometimes by hitting a then right clicking where I want it to go but most times it seems I have pitiful throwing range thanks

    Thats definately strange.. might want to throw etheral on there and see what its doing.. when I go to that site outside of the game (dont have it yet) I get a 403 Access denied
  5. How does exactly does Delgate mode work? So you have 2 squads.. one on mission, one at the base.. when delegate mode is on.. what happens? Thanks.. I want this game in the US already!
  6. How is firing handled in the game as far as reaction shots go.. for example.. I have 3 troopers move into view of an alien.. in Xcom1/2/3 I would be able to control each tropper and pick whether I wanted a auto/snap/aimed shot from all 3.. so if one missed i still had 2 chances to kill them (saved me many times against lobestermen ).. now that the game is real time w/ pausing for orders... how does it work targeting and using AP's to aim. miss, re aim etc brian
  7. Looking thru the forums here it seems like there are set missions which you must do to advance the game.. thats great.. but what I loved about the Xcom series was the random missions.. Terror attacks and shooting down the various size ufos.. is the randomness still in the game or will say Area 51 always be mission 5 and others be mission 10 etc Thanks Brian

  9. Anyone know if a GF2 Pro 64meg card will be good enought to play the game? Its the weakest part of my system... P4 2.0ghz 512 ram WinXP etc

Since I cant read the new review cause of my work filters.. ill post here.. one of the cons listed was that there was only one squad per game/level What do they really mean here?... How is this different from early/mid game Xcom when you could only fit 10 or so ppl per craft? I dont remeber how many soliders are allowed in UFO:AM at a time but what is stopping the player from breaking out those 8 or so players into smaller squads once the level starts? One thing that I will miss is that apparently other reviewers have stated that once you enter the UFO it is a new level.. so you cant keep troops on the ground outside the ufo and send a team in to recon... can anyone confirm/deny that?

  12. What kinda game is this? It sounds like an RTS based game.. i dont remeber ever seeing it in the stores...
  13. So you cant have troops in the UFO fighting and at the same time have reinforcements waiting outside the door incase that team gets wiped out? I used to use a blaster bomb to open a hole in the larger UFO's and send 2 men in to clean it out from the top down and have a crew waiting at the bottom lifts waiting for escaping aliens...
