  1. Okay. My kinda of warped mind! Besides, I did it in an old microwave which I did not want. But it did not seem to damage it in the slightest bit. So I fryed a CD in it.
  2. I personnaly found Apocalypse good. But yes, I did find a couple of things wrong. Specifically the atmosphere and the colour scheme (The aliens look like some kind of ice cream). Also I missed the night missions, they made the game much more exciting. And it would of been so much cooler if they didn't take out anything... But still, Dule, I welcome you to XTC.
  3. I don't know how this works. All I know is that it does, and it's pretty cool!
  4. Okay, to make plasma in your microwave you need: 5 corks A fishbowl A toothpick A microwave The fisrt thing you need to do is to put a fish bowl up-side-down in your microwave. (So the top is facing the bottom of the microwave) Memorize the position of the fishbowl and take it out. Put in 4 corks in a position so that it would support the fishbowl above the bottom of the micro'(Don't put it on yet). Next, light the toothpick on fire and stick it in your remaining cork. Then place the cork in the centre of the other corks. Now quickly place the fishbowl on top of the 4 corks and close the microwave and turn it on. You will see absolutely nothing in the first 10 seconds or so, then you will start to see what appears to be a purple/pink (possibly even blue!) "cloud" and you will hear a buzzing sound. That "cloud" is actually plasma! P.S. I know I said I would edit this into my post but I decided to make this noticable . Also I am not responsible for any loss you might recieve. I doubt this will break your microwave, but don't take chances, use one you don't want.
  5. Pencil lead isn't actually lead anymore, it's graphite. So I don't think it would reflect the microwaves. I can't quite remember how to make the plasma, but later today when I get the info I need I'll edit this post to say how. (BTW, do this on a microwave you don't want ) P.S. DISCLAIMER: I am not responsible for any loss of proberty, money, and microwaves. I am also not responsible for any harm done to an individual as a result of this experiment. Always do this project with adult supervision. AND do not under any circumstances puncture you microwave.
  6. Yes, plasma is ionized gas, in fact, you can make plasma in your own microwave! (I have)
  7. The "plasma shotgun" seems to be a pretty common name, I too, have seen several games with that name in it. (In fact, in one game called Jet Force Gemini, it was one of the most powerful weapons when completely charged up)
  8. Killing every thing that moves isn't always that good. I tried that once but stunning aliens is more useful than you might think. :dontgetit:
  9. Knight of the Ravens, I think I should tell you you can use a PM for a message like that. You don't need to post it on the board. Especially since a message pops up saying that you've recieved a message whenever you sign on when you have a PM.
  10. Hey, you didn't write that in bold! :o (Just kidding)
  11. Knight of the Ravens, I don't think that was a very good way to start around here, although I will not condem you for it, I don't mind much really but I think I should warn you that some people take stuff like that very seriously and they might get insulted. (BTW a "reloader" is someone who reloads from a previous save file when anything goes wrong, thus making them invincible)
  12. Most aliens appear at random times (I've seen snakemen and chryssalids on my first mission). The only one's that require an event happening are the etherials and the sectopods. Not like I know what that switch is, mind you.
  13. What's so hard about one base? (One base, not one base in Hawaii) I've heard people saying that keeping to a single base is very hard but I do it in every X-com game. Not even on purpose either, I just forget about the "Build Base" button.
  14. 5 cyberdisks? That's nothing, I've had 7 around the skyranger coupled with 5 sectoids. (All of them were facing the skyranger) And I was stupid enough not to bring smoke grenades. EDIT: Fixed a typo which said stun greandes, I meant smoke grenades.
  15. Hmm, this might be a little unfair, but I am really fond of the "suicide bomber" trick. Not when I make my own units do it though, just when I control the aliens and make them attack their "allies".
  16. They are many topics in the support section dealing with XP, try checking it out, you may find what you need. (BTW this should be in the support secion, and any/all details would help)
  17. Hallucinoids don't actually hurt (wo)men, they only have a "freeze ray". And as far as I can remember triscenes do have a hand to hand attack, although they rarely use it, they use their sonic attacks a lot more.
  18. 8 rangers lost isn't that surprising. Sometimes you have to send out your last soldier to get what seems to be the last alien. Then you later find out the hard way that it wasn't really the last alien when your soldier dies and you lose the mission.. . I would know, it's happened to me :hmmm:.
  19. Well, the music does sound much better on the old/low quality sound cards. Maybe minimizing switches what to "send" the sound to, do you have anything else on your computer which could possibly produce sound?
  20. I think the bases are about 20 meters under water, a little submerged to avoid detection but not too deep as to avoid pressure problems.
  21. I personally don't use any screening process whatsover, nor do I have any "most improtant" stat value either.(Although I do have a least important stat, throwing accuracy). P.S. I actually do find psi strength very important if I choose not to inflict a bug.(You know, the one where you can get above maximum stats or improve psi strength when injured)
  22. No, there is no time limit. Like I said, there can be many different factors. Maybe some details would help.
  23. Well it's hard to say why, there can be many reasons. (Although a very important thing to remember about TFTD is that it is very hard, UFO is nothing compared to TFTD)
  24. Why a snakeman base? They have chryssalids, and in close quarters that is a bad thing.(At least in my opinion ) I'd suggest using a muton base, their terror units *really* suck.
