  1. Well, I am almost done with all the evidence. Here are some of the latest things I added: I think it's an awesome feature. We can now insert various images in PRG item descriptions to assist (or confuse) the player... (all you need to do is hover your mouse over it and... voila!) The photo is given by Mikhalev during our conversation in "Bodies Found" (the underlined part's been added to the last dialog) Mikhalev: There is an officer under my command: a recent Moscow appointee named Captain Danilov. I want you to "examine" his quarters. Here is the address and his 1946 photograph. Our archives didn't have any recent pictures of him, for some reason. ____________________________________________________ (ready for editing, if necessary) Gaunt_NameID: Danilov's Photo Gaunt_ToolTipID: A 1946 photograph of Danilov. It was probably taken for identification purposes. The photo clearly depicts Captain's serious face and lean build. Fat_NameID: Danilov's Photo Fat_ToolTipID: A 1946 photograph of Danilov. It was probably taken for identification purposes. The photo clearly depicts Captain's serious face and stocky build. ____________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________ So, right now we have: 1. Old Photo of Danilov (lean or stocky) given by Mikhalev 2. Real Danilov (gaunt or chubby) or fake Danilov (gaunt or chubby) with matching ID card 3. Note dropped by Linz implying one of the 4 possibilities: real Danilov/ real Sovkov, real Danilov/ fake Sovkov, fake Danilov/ real Sovkov or fake Danilov/ fake Sovkov... 4. Evidence found in the house... Here is one of the sets: I tried to follow Ecthel's suggestions and guidlines. There are 4 sets, the one above is just one of them. The text strings used in all the sets (below): (ready for editing, if necessary) ------------------------------------------------------ ------------------FAKE FAT----------------------- FakeFat1_NameID: Notepad FakeFat1_ToolTipID: A smudged notepad page. 1) 1.5 cups of milk and 2 jam sandwiches 2) 3 slices of Ham, 2 slices of bread, 3 tbs. of butter and ...(smudged)... 3) Lots of fru...(smudged)... the rest of the page is smudged... ----------------------------------------- FakeFat2_NameID: Doctor's Notice FakeFat2_ToolTipID: Doctor's Notice "I know military rations might not be sufficient to maintain your target weight. Gallbladder removal is not to be underestimated. It's imperative that you maintain the low-fat diet prescribed by the surgeon to regain the lost weight." ----------------------------------------- ??? There have to be consequences for killing the real Danilov (intentionally or by mistake) or letting the fake one go. What do you think those consequences should be? ----------------------------------------- ___________________________________________________________ ___________________________________________________________ DIALOG (rewritten, combined and ready for editing): CounterfeitDlg1: Captain Danilov: ... precisely, just two more days and you'll get the rest of the merchandise… Smuggler Boss: (annoyed) Oh, save it "Captain", you told me the same thing last week. I am beginning to think you've got no more merchandise. Perhaps, we need to have a different kind of talk with you... eh? Captain Danilov: I can't believe it. I arranged a free passage for you, bribed the railroad guards, have always been on time and all I get in return is threats? Smuggler Boss: (raising his voice): Oh, that's right, the guards…Actually, I am curious how much you had to do with them demanding more money for the "free passage" you arranged. Captain Danilov: What are you talking about?! Smuggler Boss: Oh, don't pretend you didn't know. You think you can take my money, make me wait and "tax" me at the border? You think I am an amateur? I've got news for you, "Captain"! Last night, both of your greedy little friends went for a swim, permanently. Captain Danilov: …All right, Linz, you made your point. Obviously they were idiots to cross a man like you. I'll find replacements for them. Smuggler Boss: (grinning) In the meantime - how about some compensation for my losses? Captain Danilov: Compensation? Smuggler Boss: Yes, compensation. We've had a 10 day lag in our operations. There are a lot of thirsty Yankees in Zehlendorf, and if I don't give them what they want, they'll start looking elsewhere to satisfy their needs. Captain Danilov: All right, Linz, I'll compensate your "losses". Wait here. I'll bring the money. Smuggler Boss: (hesitating) Umm...Fine, just don't take all night, "captain"… ----------------------------------------------- CounterfeitDlg2: Smuggler Boss: Hey, "Captain"! My patience is running out… Where is my money? Smuggler: I don't like it, boss. It's been quite a while since he entered the house. How about this: we go in, drop that fool and take whatever he’s got in there. Smuggler Boss: Hmmm…If my source is correct, he is going to ditch us anyway. Did you talk to the boys about it? Smuggler: Yeah, in the car on our way here. They didn't like that Russian swine from the start… Smuggler Boss: (considering his options) All right, let's do it then. Gather up the boys, keep it down and don't leave any witnesses. ----------------------------------------------- CounterfeitDlg3: Captain Danilov: You heard them, Otto. Get your men ready. Elisa: Oh, god! What are we going to do? Captain Danilov: Don't worry, Elisa, I am coming up. We'll lock the door and shoot anyone who tries to get in. ----------------------------------------------- We get a pop-up message: "It appears you’ll need to dispose of both the smugglers and the Otto's group to get to Danilov. In case you try to get to him earlier he's likely to shoot you on sight." ----------------------------------------------- Smugglers (~15 of them) will be coming from the road (main and tributary), the Grimm bandits (~6) will be on the first and second floor. Danilov and Elisa/Anna will hole up on the 3rd floor behind closed door. They are hostile to you until you kill all the others. --------------------------------- Once all the smugglers and the Grimm bandits are dead and you didn’t attack or kill Danilov or Elisa/Anna a conversation starts: CounterfeitDlg4: You: Hey, is anyone there? Captain Danilov? Captain Danilov: Huh? Otto? You: Otto and his men are dead, so are Linz and his goons. Captain Danilov: Who is this? You: Mikhailev sent me. Put away your weapons. I am coming up. -------------------------------- The party is 'teleported' to the 3rd floor and another conversation starts with Danilov and Elisa/Anna present CounterfeitDlg5: Captain Danilov: You said Lieutenant Colonel sent you? If it's about those dead officers - I had nothing to do with it. You heard Linz, they got greedy, he killed them. You: Yes and I killed him. Captain Danilov: Right. (biting on his lip) What do you want? You: Answers. Captain Danilov: (looking at his watch) Fine. What do you want to know? Elisa: (suspiciously looking at you) Fedor, there is no time! Captain Danilov: I know, Elisa... (to you) Ask you questions. You: Who was Otto? Captain Danilov: He worked for Alfred Grimm. Grimm is the in charge of ‘nightlife’ in West Berlin. You: And Linz? Captain Danilov: He worked for Grimm’s competitor Dirk Hutten. You: What was your objective? Captain Danilov: If Mikhalev didn’t tell you, why should I? You: Because there are over 20 dead bodies around your house, I’d hate to add 2 more to the pile. Captain Danilov: (tightening his lips) I see… We were tasked with establishing a smuggling ring, posing as ‘corrupt’ Soviet officers dealing in alcohol. You: Who’s ‘we’? Captain Danilov: Master Sergeant Sovkov and I. We needed to gain Hutten’s trust, then establish contact with Grimm and eventually become his suppliers. Hutten and Linz would have to be eliminated at that point. You: Where is Sovkov? Captain Danilov: (narrowing his eyes) He is not here. Can we go now? You: No. Captain Danilov: What? You: You heard me… Give me your ID. Captain Danilov: Why?.. err… fine. Here…(gives his ID) Look, Elisa and I need to be elsewhere and we are already late. You: It shouldn’t take long. Stay here, Danilov. I’ll be right back. Another pop-up: “Look around the house for clues confirming Danilov’s statements. If he is telling the truth there is no reason to keep him here. Talk to him and inform him of your decision” Now Danilov can be talked to. ___________________________________________________________ ___________________________________________________________ @ dimovski Hungarian SMGs and other 9x25 Mauser Export weapons are not ready yet. Regarding the ammo pricing. The prices used for Parabellum rounds are original/ default. I didn't modify them. Price of 9mm bullet = 3 Price of 9mm JHP bullet = 6 Clip price = bullet price * number of bullets in a clip I don't see anything unusual in the prices. JHP bullet ~= 2 * Regular (Balle) bullet (I looked up the current ammo prices and they seem to conform to Nival's original idea. Not sure about the 1948 specifics. I'd imagine hollow points were even more rare then... not sure.) 9mm 32 round clip = 3 * 32 = $ 96 9mm JHP 10 round clip = 6 * 10 = $ 60 I don't see any 'bugs'. Do you think those prices need to be changed? About the headgear: Unfortunately, we can only add one headgear item per uniform. In essense: either helmet or goggles (or glasses or gas mask). Not both. __________________________________________________________ @Lt, Interesting site. I am not sure if the music he writes fits the Silent Storm theme (I only listened to 10-12 classical waves he had there). In any case it's good to have a royalty free alternative just in case. Thank you for finding it. __________________________________________________________ (to be continued) ~Blunter~

Good work Tycho! Can i have a question for you? Have you thought that it could be easier to work on OpenXcom (contribute or create your version) instead of hacking original game? But probably not so challenging
