XCOM: Chimera Squad

02 April 2022 - 06:15 AM

This is my official After Action Reports review of XCOM Apoc... Chimera Squad!

Part 0.) The Tutorial

Keep in mind this is a caveat, (just like the game) I will provide a few screen shots from my play through. Unlike previous AAR's this is focused exclusively on my experience with the game. The first part of this four part series is my overall thoughts and opinions.

Premise & Summary

This game takes place after the events of XCOM 2. Aliens, Humans, and Hybrids now live together in a post apocalyptic/futuristic hellscape.
XCOM was successful, ADVENT and their alien leaders were disposed of. The priority now is to rebuild the world as a better place, learn from the past and evolve. Yet, there are those that don't quite see it that way and have decided that their justifications and beliefs will overcome.

Looking back at previous games from the X-COM universe this is a love letter to Apocalypse. Cityscapes, APC, multicultural aliens all living together? The only thing missing is my Flying 50's retro cars! (note - Whisper makes a reference at Verge for not showing up initially to the mission due to the fact he had to call a cab to a hostage situation)

Overall I enjoyed this game, the new techniques took some time to grasp, but the fun was making mistakes and improving on them. I only scum saved once the whole play through.

This is the Pilot episode! I will have 4 post on this game with screen shots, A few tactics to consider and I have to take a piss now.

Joe Biden Sucks.

This is the worst president in American history. If you voted for him, you're a fucking moron. If you feel different, about this I'd like to know what exactly he has done to justify otherwise. I want sources too, not "orange man bad shit".

You white evil people!

I sat in a barn eating cheeseburgers all day waiting for a black guy who just robbed a Walgreens to just sweep me off my hooves.

This rant was totally a Packers fans premise. I in no way endorse or encourage fat women to dye their hair blue and cry about another persons "ideology".                The End                                      Fin

OpenXcom on the PS Vita

30 May 2021 - 08:01 AM

So in the last month or so, Sony made a public statement saying they were going to remove the PlayStation 3, Vita and PSP stores. So I, being a Sony Pony panicked and bought a slew of games (which will be on the backburner for time indefinite). The only PS system I didn't own was the Vita. Long story short I bought a really nice Vita on eBay. So being a modder at heart, the first thing I thought was..."Let's crack this b*tch open and mod!" After several hours of watching YouTube videos, I created (IMO) one of the best modified Vitas. Evidently they made an OpenXcom app that allows you to play the original X-COM and TFTD on a hand held system with a touch screen! I don't know if anyone reading this post understand what I'm saying, but how cool is it to play the original games on a handheld with touch screen support? Damn, I should of added screen shots or a video....Well whatever I might add them later.

This isn't my video, but I thought I'd share it. Also if anyone is interested here's a link (it's legal) to apply it to your vita, assuming you have the games on Steam or GOG.
