rattical_08
I recently bought UFO Afterlight for 5 bucks, and have tried everything to get it to run. I installed patch, tried compatibility settings, and no luck. Anyone got any suggestions to try?

I tried to run in Win7, Windows XP SP2, etc. I uninstalled and re-installed. The game crashes when I try to start it.This is the crash report: Problem signature: Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: UFO.exe Application Version: 0.0.0.0 Application Timestamp: 4945233b Fault Module Name: StackHash_6ae1 Fault Module Version: 0.0.0.0 Fault Module Timestamp: 00000000 Exception Code: c0000005 Exception Offset: 00000000 OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3 Locale ID: 1033 Additional Information 1: 6ae1 Additional Information 2: 6ae1170d37f65d4dd3b53ef92464c420 Additional Information 3: 239a Additional Information 4: 239aa557355b21bc4eade1074d45f667 Read our privacy statement online: https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=104...mp;clcid=0x0409 If the online privacy statement is not available, please read our privacy statement offline: C:\Windows\system32\en-US\erofflps.txt
yeni
a few ideas that might help, in the order they occur to me : 1) XP SP3 might make a difference, i'm using XP Pro with SP3 (since my last reinstall of windows, lol) and had no real troubles 2) i think there's a "run in windowed mode" shortcut in the start menu folder, when i first tried AL i think i needed to use that 3) video drivers updated, and directX ? 4) video modes might be an issue, especially if your monitor is a 16 x 9 aspect ratio, not the 4 x 3 that the game is written for originally (i know it can work, i have a fried that runs AL on a wide screen style monitor - if that's an issue, then i can ask him how his is configured 5) once in a while turning off other running programs in the task manager can let a troublesome program run
gatt
Fault Module Name: StackHash_6ae1 seems to me like a problem with this, are you installing with disk or downloading?seems like a file corruption?if it is and your re-installing from a corrupt disk it will never work suggest going to a file site like www.gog.com it only costs a few quid/dollars. https://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/ufo_afterlight they do offers where you could buy all 3 for under $5 each
