Berlusconi to face fraud charges!

Recommended Posts

Story!

He's been up on fraud charges before, and he has been alleged to have used his political position to prevent himself from facing other charges, so it'll be interesting to see how he gets out of this one.

There are some ramifications for British politicas as well: the (now former?) husband of the culture minister is also facing charges for accepting a bribe to commit perjury on Berlusconi's behalf. But of course she never had a clue about her husband's business dealings, or so she says. Also, it would be embarrassing for Tony Blair if such a close political ally gets convicted of fraud.

I guess tax fraud is all fashionable among politicians....

A few years back the minister of argiculture didn't pay taxes on his on farm (at least that what I can remember from it). ;)

After some long and tiresome slithering through the maze of news reporters and bad excuses he finally caved in after 6 months and paid the taxes.

Of course our lovely caveman with blue/grey fisheyes of a prime minister went on public television and excused a lot of times for something that the minister of argiculture had done or in this case not done.

At least Mr. B tried to squirm his way out the whole ordeal by trying to pass some laws so he couldn't be prosecuted in any way....

I don;t understand wy the world's stinking horde of politicians can't pay their own bills! It's not like they're short of a couple of quid! ;)

Seriously, why are they committing fraudulent acts to escape tax etc? They get paid an absolute fortune either way!

And don't forget about the various pensions that the ministers get when they leave office.

Life of a politician.....

Get elected in to Parlement....And maybe fasttrack into a minister position otherwise you'll get a chance once every 4th year....After 4-8 years either you step down or is booted out as minister....No need to panic....You head down for a position in the European Parlement and if you suck up enough you become a commissioner.

After some time there you either step down or are replaced....Again no need to panic....Some high profile organisations are headhunting you for a position as chairman of their organisation (Think UN, NATO or humanitarian organisations).

So there you sit on your golden perch and are trying to write your memoirs. Preferbly having your own name in the title.

All during this political ratrace you make a couple of bad choices and/or mistakes which will come back and hit you in the back of your head like a boomerang throw gone bad.
