This is weird. You know my blank screen problem? Well it turns out that I can fix it by running any game then exiting it. Can anyone explain why this works?

Screen modes. A game generally sets a screen mode to play in, but in this case, it seems you need another game to do it instead. (This based on this thread. I don't actually know what you're on about. )

that won't explain exiting the other game first. maybe the OS isn't very happy with UFO so you need the "prepare" the os before UFO runs? i dunno. a whhile back, my windows login would freeze if i logged on after a fresh boot or reset. if i logged into another accound first, it was ok. maybe something realated to that?

Thanks for taking the time to post and tell me not to post if I don't know the answer to his question. I do believe he asked if anyone knew, and seeing that no one had responded in over 3 days, I took the initiative to let him know that someone had read and thought about his problem while also bumping the topic to the top of the list for further advertisement.

 

But I guess this post was unneccessary, too.
