Skipping the Startup Cutscene

Assuming you mean Apocalypse, leave the dash out. Just look up the readme file just to be sure.

 

You just type it in right after typing in the name of the game's executable.

 

For example:

 

xcomapoc skip

 

If you're not using the command prompt and only using a windows shortcut, then you can edit the shortcut file by right clicking on it and opening its properties. In the line with the game's executable, surround it in a parenthesis and add the line skip right after the executable. For example if it looks like this originally:

c:\games\xcoma\xcomapoc.exe

 

Change it to look like:

"c:\games\xcoma\xcomapoc.exe skip"

 

If it doesn't work, well, you can always change it back.
