Dog Soldier
I just finished the Wargot sub-campaign and destroyed the mothership. To be honest I'm a little bit dissapointed. I've expexted it too be a little bit more challenging. Without spoiling it to much for all you guys who aren't at that point yet I would like to know what you guys think of it?(maybe put spoiler alert on it?)Any special tactics/weaponry used? Ran into any difficulties? Big or smal spaceship and so one....
Pete
I don't think they were expecting the assault, and if you ran into the Starghosts you'll see the Wargots had other things to worry about. I'm fairly sure what this sub-campaign was supposed to be conveying as up until this point I was pretty sure the Starghosts and Wargots were a team. Don't worry though, as the last bit of the very last mission is so hard it makes up for any easy bits earlier on You've got about 3-6 weeks game time to go yet. Dog Soldier
I must admit that the SG attacking the WG was quit a suprise. I still think the SG are a formidable opponent but after doing an autopsy on them I changed my tactics a bit . Caution is still the order but let the buggers come!!I'm reaching a major breakthrough in Hyper-energy weapons (2-3h to go) and I'm putting a lot of hope in the coming of the new warprifles.I did try to take a screenshot of the mothership exploding, but apparently it didn't work, maybe 'cause it was an in-game movie? Dog Soldier
I've just field tested my first man made warprifle and I love it already!A bit to slow for close combat, but look at those damage points on that brainman! Over 9000!!!! https://img360.imageshack.us/img360/1493/warprifle6er.jpg

Pete
Dog Soldier - you'll need those on the last few missions. I never had any, but the luck of the spawn points were with me on the final campaign and I *cough*ran-to-the-exit-zones*cough* on the last few missions to finish the game off
Accounting Troll
If you find yourself up against BOTH wargots and starghosts in a mission, would it be possible to hold back on the edge of the map and wait for them to kill each other off before you pick a fight with the survivors? Preda
just finished the mothership campaign, and I kinda don't know what to do next.
Pete
Preda - you'll get something come up in the next day or two of game time. Just keep playing. Eventually you'll be able to autopsy Starghosts, which will lead onto other things, but I think you've got to do a few missions against them to trigger a couple of things. *Spoiler* It'll be a few encounters with them before they star planting Pillars of Death on any territory you fail to defend. You also only need research the Starghost Cloud I believe til you get your next Laputa research item
ivanek
How do you destroy those air pillars ?? I'm on the first mothership :x
Dog Soldier
I used RPG's. From yhe upper level, shoot 3-4 rockets down in the hole. When the red indicator dissapeares, mission accomplished! I suppose any sort of rocket (LAW, Alien, Reticulan, Wargot,...) will do the trick, but I don't know for sure. I only used RPG'S. Pete
I think AP bullets down the hole will also work. It would have been nice if the red circle was at the base of the pillar, that it showed up on the mini-map and that it had a health indicator, but who's complaining? Preda
How do you destroy those air pillars ?? I'm on the first mothership :x<{POST_SNAPBACK}> EASIEST WAY: Get a machine gunner at the base of the pillar, and order him to shoot the pillar at the marker's level. In 2 bursts the pillar will vanish.

Preda
This isn't really a bump, it's been only 4 days since the last post. I wanted to ask about those support strains in the mothership. I'm curious if anyone understood what they were and why they were made out of air
