Crash Sites

Featured Replies

After you have all the tech, weapons and cash you want, is there any harm in leaving crash sites untouched? Does it damage diplomacy with the country it's in or have any other negative effects?

As far as I know, crash sites can be left untouched and they will not have any adverse effect on diplomacy/score etc. Shooting down a UFO may precipitate a retaliation attack against the nearest base/zone/area so that would be the only downside I could think of.

In Apocalypse, you can leave crashed UFOs untouched and they'll just vanish after a bit. Or you could just set your vehicles to manual control and deliver the killing blow yourself to clear up the site.

The drop sites (or terror sites, as I prefer to think of them) on the other hand are a whole different kettle of fish (and impact on goods supply as well). In UFO/TFTD, you must attend to terror sites or suffer a huge penalty. Visiting and aborting the site minimises the penalty considerably though compared to just leaving the site unattended.
