Hi guys,its me again.Its been a long time since I last frequented my favourite online pitstop!.

I am quite well into my game now,having recently waged war against the Martians ect.Problem is,the game has suddenly decided to crash in game quite frequently now (reminiscent of UFOAS),and is proving quite annoying.

Is there any specific reason for this?.

I have my latest Catalyst drivers and the game is v 1.5.

My game crashes as well, I've noticed it usually happens for me in Geoscape when I get a message "A new item has been produced" and I click immediately on the Production button, but this not always happens, but it's the most usual crash.

 

Also tends to crash after some hours of gameplay, when the game speed has become that of a slug and it just seems to cry "kill me"

My crashes also most often go hand in hand with the memory leak - once the loading times get absudily high, the game's bound to crash on me sooner or later.

So if this is your problem BB, just save, exit to system and reload ever two hours or so.

 

As to the fast clicking on the tabs Azrael Strife has, I'm having the same. It seems that it is irrelevant what kind of tab you click though. Learned the hard way to stop doing that and just use the bar at the top of the screen.

 

Come to think about it it is nice that the devs care about us so much - they make the game CTD if we play too long so that we can take breaks and let our eyes rest a wee bit.

Here is a new crash I have just experienced tonight,after playing for about 8 hrs solid,without a single glitch.

I might add I am well into my game here,coming close to the end of September.

I went into the screen where you view all your current assets,resources ect,and decided to upgrade all my crystal mines,so,I clicked the crystal tab to sort by crystals (naturally) and clicked an area called Icaria.The Geosphere span straight to the location but then froze.I reloaded,and tried a different area,the game carried on,then I clicked Icaria again and the game froze.

I did this about 10 times and the game froze.I suspect there may be a bug regarding Icaria.There may even be more like this.

I shall post them as and when they arise.

It's not something exclusive to Icaria, nor any territory in particula but under your current situation it makes it seem so. Let me guess, does the music continue playing? If so, try sending any vehicle out before checking the list and see what happens. you don't need it to go far, just let a couple of game minutes go by so the vehicle leaves the base and then retry your actions

Kret,the game freezes,no sound,nothing.I get a corrupted white curser as the system attempts to get back to DT,but I have to reset the system instead.In fact the crash occured about 5 mins ago,again with Icaria I will try your method,and post back tonight.

Before I go,have you had this crash before Kret?

Hmm... I though it could of been related with the vehicle centering bug introduced in 1.5, but this bug doesn't cause a crash as it simply goes into an infinite loop. But if you say it crashes then I'm problably wrong about the cause. Just in case, do try it. One note, when you sort the list by crystal resources, is Icaria the 1st one in the list? and where do you click? The name on the left, or some other part?

For the record,at the time of the problem I had about 4 crystal mines,and if I remember Icaria was either 3rd or 4th in the list.I simply double clicked the NAME Icaria and it took me straight there,albeit with the damn freeze!.I put a techie in a vehicle as you said and sent him out for a short while,and then recalled him.I clicked Icaria and the game worked fine (strange).

This is just getting confusing, could you clarify if after recalling the vehicle you waited for it to return to base or you just cancelled it's jobs but the vehicle was still out when you tried clicking on Icaria?

This was carried out while the vehicle was enroute BACK to the base.

I sent the vehicle towards a nearby province,let about 30 mins pass (game time obviously),clicked on the vehicle and cancelled its order,thus sending it back to base.I then checked the overview screen and double clicked the name Icaria,and the geosphere span there without the aforementioned crash.

Does this clarify your confusion?

Well, I'm a bit more relaxed with the explanation as the vehicle is still out of base which is the important thing.

I'm just bloody glad it worked! I didnt fancy having to try and find all my important territories manually! the overview screen is a very useful tool in certain areas,like when deciding to shift mining priorities as situations arise.
