Stefan
Hi all, first post here for me and of course I'm looking for help. I'm trying to change the textures of the playable humans, more specifically the light, medium and heavy armour, but I cant get them to work in game. the files I'm talking about are the tga. files located in tactical/textures/units/humans I've repainted them in Photoshop 7.0 and saved as 24 bit uncompressed .tga, and then I used Flux vfs tool to repack them into a new .vfs file. It's not working, wich is strange since I used flux tools before and I'm quite sure I'm not doing anything wrong when I create the .vfs file. Unless I have to do things differently then if I would have modded one of the .txt files.. but that's not the case, right?? Perhaps the problem is that I somehow need to change the .dds files, but I have no idea what those files do or how to change them.. so I'm more or less stuck. I've tried to put the .dds files that are named something with "light soldier", "medium soldier" and so on in the .vfs file but it's still not working.. Well, if anyone know what I'm doing wrong please let me know. Thanks!
uly
You need to convert them to dds files. .dds files are DX9 texture files. Do a search on google, there are several standalone tga/dds converters as well as Photoshop plugins. I think you can get one from nVidia's site as well.
