Come on guys, this is not funny. Especially if, in joining the forum, it will be years before we see "updates".
Alright... I'll give you the skinny...
X-COM Movie attempt - 2002
for 2 years it remained unedited...
the footage was about 45 minutes... i
t was enough for a short trailer...
in 2004
gained access to capture said footage... saw how terrible it was and decided to make fun of ourselves
thus "This is X-COM..."
Discovered that our actors had the beginning of improv abilites
2004-2007
JNP|Movies begins... basically Improv movies shot and editing in one night... thats right
2006
JNP|Show
A bizarre collection of artists, poets, actors, musicians
JNP|Show = a Showcase concert
we've now done 8 of these shows...
2007
JNP|Show going very strong and we are now making JNP a business...
a publishing house for artists, authors, musicians and filmmakers...
So now were looking at X-COM again....
And we have a battle plan now...
were going to relase one major film a year til 2010...
and to clarify... in 2010... God Willing... Filming will begin for X-COM | Episode I Enemy Unknown
were practicing greenscreening and other digital arts to get our stuff up to par for X-COM the Movie in 2010...
also the plan is to do 3 X-COM movies set in the XCOM1 universe
Episode I - Enemy Unknown
Episode II - Ufo Defense
Episode III - Cydonia or Bust
Now understand... were talking... just a good Indie, low budget scifi film... but just doing enough digital effects to make it look realistic... Another note... All Aliens will be actual plastic suits and other costumes... no cg aliens =]
So thats the skinny...
Yes plz join the forum... you will see updates on these movies and X-COM the movie...

Its all about the JNP now...
And yes we are promoting that...
But right now I'd like to ask a big question...
We havent contacted infogrames yet, but I'd imagine they will NOT let us do this film... even if we tried to break deal with them...
So with that in mind...
What could be done, to not infringe on copyrights with infogrames?
One thing I've noticed is that names such as sectiods, etherals and heavy plasmas or interceptors isnt copyrighted... just X-COM and its logo...
there might be some creative ways to do an "X-COM" movie without calling it that... cause you could just about use every other name from that universe...

Hey guys... this is definately a necro post... but it is worth while to post this here...
In 2004 we attempted X-COM the movie... and we failed... we made a mockmentary that was horrible, mind you... that basically just made fun of ourselves for attempting the film...
Also... due the huge popularity of "This is X-COM"... We were offically asked to remove the "X-COM trailer" and "This is X-COM" from our hosting server... because it was literally CRASHING THE SERVERS from so many hits... hahaha!
but anyways...
JNP is all grown up now...
and were getting our crap together...
So... yup... were going to give it another try here in a few years...

Im working on getting the liencses for the music and the X-COM name itself so we can release a "This is X-COM" DVD with all the trailers, teaser, improved and higher quaility version of the documentary with deleted scenes and MORE buffoonery... And Commentary too boot =]
So just keep your pants on... Were working on it =]
Because this would be a far far better thing to have than just a CD with the documentary on it... Plus it puts a little cash in our pocket for our insane amount of work we put into this.... =]
I'll keep you well posted on the progress...

has been dloaded well over 300 times since its release on 6/9/04

1. The DSL was NOT turned on...

We were shooting for the 23rd... but things pilled up... and so in hopes of providing a quaility film....
we've decided the documentary will be done when its done...
Editing should be done this week...

I was looking through the support section looking for an answer to my xcom running too fast... I found that the "turbo" progtam for some reason wouldnt slow my system down at all... So I went searching once again...
Those guys at www.xcomufo.com have done it again...
goto the dload section of xcom on xcomufo.com and dload
-Video Bug Fix for Collector's Edition- "xcom1fix.exe"
Its a mere 4k...
and it fixed my not only my speed problem... But fixed the video so where you wouldnt have to turn your video card off everytime you wanted to play...
So yes... Please dload that first... and hopefully it will resolve alot of problems you might be having with X-COM
Hope thats of some help...
I know this solution has probably been mentioned before... But I just wanted to give it a good yell once again... =]

make you sure you've dloaded all the windows updates and make sure your windows media player is version 9... (the lastest version)

Here's my X-COM version knowledge... well at least what I've seen...
I live in the USA...
You have "Enemy Unknown" which was released on floppy (I assume) and CD (later on) in UK then USA...
But the first release in the USA was a 3 floppy set for "UFO Defense"
There is a "UFO Defense" CD... I have it right beside me... Its rare.. its prior to the 1.3 patch which converts it to "Enemy Unknown"
I assume Mircoprose felt EU was the definate release...
But the sounds and music are Extremely different... in U.D.
Also... EGO! in my collector Edition there was no Email X-COM!!!
