Are humans involved at all in this storyline? I'm just wondering... and maybe I can do some concept or 2D art for you guys.

Or stun gas? That would work. But honestly, the mechanical kick in the groind is much more painful. "Hey would you like to be stunned or kicked in the groin?" "Ooh groin please" "Wham" *falls over* Besides, the suits still have to tackle the issue of small rocket systems. Even in Urban combat the bad guys are going to use LAW rockets or something even smaller. One shot will either blow the suit up, or if lucky, knock you over where you're vulnerable. How bulky is the power suit going to be makes a lot of difference. However it'll be great against bullets, most of them... Or explosives.

The AC-DU would be a great idea. But can you imagine carrying around depleted uranium rounds? Better than AP, much better. But I think it would be better used on an HWP. Cause the present day SABOT rounds are on tanks. I doubt a person can fire something like that from a hand held weapon. What I wanna see is some kind of super strong sniper gun like the M82AI. However something a little stronger so you can blow a hole through a sectopod. Awesome. Have an X-Com agent about a mile away blowing up UFO's and popping sectoids with his trusty X-Com Super-Sniper-Rifle. (Although it could use a better name. )

I can somehow imagine a bunch of aliens in battleships coming here and trying to halt our space advances by attacking the elevator. We'll be all like "Hah we done it! We have reached space" And the aliens go "Oh no you don't we're gonna blow it up, Eeeeiii!" Then they try to fly the ufo to break the elevator. Then A super squad of X-Com agents in billion dollar power suits go up the elevator and into the alien craft going "We're gonna get em by surprise! They'll never suspect us taking the elevator" As they finally get up about halfway one of the rookies yell "Ahh my power cord got disconnected!" Uh, yeah.

I really don't think the power suit idea would be any useful present day. Even to SWAT teams. A lot of terrorists and some special forces utilize Gurza ammunition. That stuff can punch through most armor metals that aren't at least half an inch thick. Titanium is reserved mainly for medical needs. $1000 crate of AP and Gurza ammunition versus $1,000,000,000,000 power suite = waste. Until they can find some kind of cheap metal or fabric in which to produce a power suit they're not gonna achieve much by sending them into battle. Although... I hear some good things about some kind Carbon Nano-tubes. Or something like that. Same thing they using to build a proposed space elevator. http://www.isr.us/SEHome.asp It looks really cool... but seems nearly impossible. The power suit is still cool though.
