Going Muslim? Have Harem!

by on 27th Jun 2012

The now released first expansion to Crusader Kings II, Sword of Islam, sets you free to pursue not only polygamy but also rulership of great dynasties like the Ottoman and Mamluk empires.

(...) this scheming strategy RPG will allow players to command Muslim nations, opening up a world of polygamous problems, new laws, traits, titles and over 100 new events, as well as a flavorful Islam-inspired interface. Experience the Crusades from the other side. Combat decadence within your own dynasty. And solve problems arising in your very own harem.

There is a wealth of new features, mechanics as well as events specific to these rulers, new counties and titles, a Greed versus Nobility Dynasty Decadence System and combat revisions with new Commander traits for more interesting combat tactics.

Alongside the expansion a free update and two additional DLC packs were also outed: The African Unit Pack, which provides new unit graphics for the African states south of the Sahara and Songs of the Caliph that adds two new songs for use in the expansion.

All the above now available through Steam.

If the prospect of receiving the attention of four lovely wives is not enough to have you switch over to the other side, Paradox Interactive will today be having a live stream event starting at 9 am PDT/6 pm CEST:

Henrik Fåhreus, project lead on Crusader Kings II, will guide you in your quest to experience the Crusades from the other side. This includes a walkthrough and a QA session from the community via chat. Take this chance to see the developers talk about the game and tell you all the inside information from behind the scenes.

Tune in here.
