I dont have one of those video cards. what kind of patch is available? I installed the standard update patch, is there any other?

Like I said in another post, Im just getting the game out again for the first time in a few years. Ive noticed in this game Im playing, I hit february of the first year and now when im on missions, after the very first turn, i hit the button to let the comp go and it freezes up. It does it no matter how many times I restart, or skip to the next mission. It didnt do it right away, but now it is. Sucks too because I had a good first month.

after many years of not playing, I tried breaking out TFTD again for another go. Even on my outdated 800 P3, the battle scenes just scrolled about too quickly. I couldnt control my mouse and keep it around my aquanauts and ship. Also the time just shoots by. It goes so quickly I sometimes cant react in enough time to the alien ships. So I tried it on my oldest most archaic 266 P2, and it was better, but still virtually unplayable. Moving the mouse just the tiniest bit sends the screen off into the distance. Any ideas how to work this out?
