  1. Heyya Sgt. Strike Yea, i had auto on the windows update and didnt pay attention (had to download a bunch (100 updates i think it was, insane many anyway lol, so missed the video update) I am sure this is what caused my issue from the beginning. It is now turned off, to just receive a notification - more control! Installed the monitor drivers yesterday too, funny that you mentioned it in here. Not that it was the monitor i had issues with, but felt good doing it Played another 3 hours of ufo! Love the original X-Com better, but this works as entertainment till the new X-Com gets released (and no, not the fps version)
  2. Nah, that wasn't it But located the issue, finally! heh Uninstalled and reinstalled a bunch of drivers, over n over but it didnt help. gave up yesterday and went at it again this morning. Found duzzin of posts descibing my issue, and a bunch of solutions - the one that worked for me was: go to NVIDIA Control Panel Under manage 3D settings, in Global 1: set vsync to force on 2: set power management to maximum performance Also earlier i did (which didnt help but ill mention it) 1: Nvidia control panel - set phyx configuration - choose your card, not auto select. 2: Now though im sitting with old drivers lol (from the dvd version 270), scared to update them hihi Played L4D2 without issues now and LA Noir, UFO for about 10 min without any crash - no driver crash messages anymore, which popped up randomly (even when not playing) Thanks for the help though! Hope this can help others that run into familiar issues
  3. Will give this a try. ty for the information. To answer the questions - yea, i am overclocking the processor, but i have water-cooling so it "shouldn't" be an issue, but will lower it to be sure. I am running the newest patch on aftershock, believe it is 1.3. I have noticed lately some weird issues in other games, familiar to this, (ie: Left 4 Dead 2 - looked just like ufo does, but it went back to normal after 10 seconds) And yea, this issue is happening even if starting a new game, even if turning compability mode on, and even if running as admin. ugh! Removing drivers and re-installing em, will let you all know how it went! ty! /Cookie
  4. Hello I am hoping someone can help me out. I Installed UFO Aftershock for 3 days ago, and everything worked great then - played it for about 3 hours the first day. Yesterday though i received graphical issues, lines - looking horrible appeared everywhere. and it seemed to "grove" till it finally crashed. Once it does crash Windows gives me an error message (not the game): Display driver stopped responding and has recovered. Display driver NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, version 304.48 stopped responding and has successfully recovered. I am using a newly built computer Win 7. sp1, Geforce gtx 560. (tried the normal drivers:301.42 first then "upgraded" to the beta drivers: 304.48, still same issues.) Only thing that has changed from the first day i played to yesterday is windows updates. (sp1 got installed among others). I have been reading these forums and also other forums to try and locate a solution, someone mentioned rolling back to old gfx drivers which i have tried. Does anyone know which version to roll back to? Or does anyone know a solution for this in any other way? From dxdiag:
