The forums being down over the weekend was unrelated to the hacker's manipulation of the forum's index.php on Saturday. The hacker's mischief was quickly resolved and his ISP/host notified of the activity. The forum downtime over the weekend was due to some admin tweaking which turned awry
Hi, if you're still looking for this file, you can find it here: http://www.xcomufo.com/patch.dll or in f0dder's original archive: http://www.xcomufo.com/xcom_bugfix091.zip
I'm afraid I'm a little late to the discussion, but I wanted to respond to the quoted post by Pumpkinhead. The floorplan images of the supply ship that I have on xcomufo are all cut and paste from screen shots. I was most of the way through the project when I came across Daishiva's viewer, from which I DID get the terror ship images you also referenced.
I'm glad you like it. The x-net demo is but a taste of what out art and creative text departments have accomplished. We would have included more, but people would start griping about having to download too big a file And Slaughter, regarding your earlier comment about joining out project after your schooling - you are welcome to do so. I'm sure there's 'something' you can help with
You are exactly correct in your latter assumption, Bastiaan. We will make whatever changes to make it legal, and keep whatever names would not be considered infringing on the original game's copyrights. -Micah micah@projectxenocide.com Xenocide Team
Regular forum members have read access to those forums, but validating members and guests do not. Are you by chance the person who tried to register with the username "serioussamfr"? If so, the forum requires email validation, and if it is yours, you'll have to either re-register with a valid address, or let me know the real one and I can fix it. Hmm, I finally had to register here Hi Slaughter -Micah micah@projectxenocide.com Xenocide Team
I'm a little late, but.... @Veteran: We got our textures from Blue Marble, the same site Serge listed above, and we use the same one as Serge uses for his geoscape: http://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/Newsroom/BlueMarble/ If you would like a copy of the version we use for Xenocide, download a copy of Xenocide Alpha 3, install it, and look in the /images folder for the file called: xenocide_geoscape_texture.png Good luck with the project.
Ok, how about brushing up a bit on your computer terms and social skills? Even by the grand age of 15, you should know that English is not everybody's native tongue.... Thanks for an excellent solution, Yaro. I'm sure it will help everyone who has a copy of the dos versions laying around (me included).
Well, I pulled the CD back out of the pile and fired it up, and it actually worked. It's a fun game, in its own genre. Apoc: You CAN vertically aim, but, only when holding the right mouse button and pitching the mouse.
