  1. That's difficult to answer. My whole squad gets experience even if only one soldier is doing all the killing - however, if you had only half the number of people in the squad would they get double the experience? I'm afraid I have no idea.
  2. Thanks Faustino, but I really can't be bothered with that since locks can easily be blasted open or even forced with melee weapons anyway.
  3. I left whilst in the basement. It's an exploitable bug. I went directly down to the underground area via the entrance near the start of the mission, cleared out all the bad guys, climbed up the shaft behind the lift, took the lift down, nicked the PKs and then clicked the leave button. I think that as long as you have been to the top and the underground twice each, you'll be able to leave from either zone.
  4. Thanks for the hints, pal. Sadly, my scout isn't much good close-up, she always seems to get spotted even when hiding. I suppose I should just try to level her up quickly. I suppose I could go with the machine gun/grenade thing, but that's going to be costly inside large buildings with lots of staircases. I'm loathe to use grenades indoors because my team tend to do as much harm to themselves as anybody else. :?
  5. I know what you mean, pal. I was astonished to see how dead all the message boards are. The game must have sold a decent number of copies otherwise they wouldn't be making an expansion, so where is everyone? I've tried convincing people to buy it, but a lot of them were put off by the PKs. I'd rather they weren't there, too, but I'm not about to let it stop me playing an otherwise fantastic game. I haven't had the inclination to play a turn-based strategy game since the days of the original X-COM, when I had an Amiga. 8) Edit: 76 views and nobody talking. :?:
  6. Ah, in that case I have no idea, I've never bothered shooting them up. I'm not sure if you'd get experience for it, but I'm guessing you would because you're successfully aiming at and shooting something, right?
  7. Funnily enough, I just experienced this same thing today. There wasn't a basement there, though, just the staircase leading down to that level. It was a staircase that was on the outside of a building, connecting the ground to a ledge that ran along the side of the building. It was level 1.5 - by that I mean that the ledge still counted as the ground floor. I have no idea what's going on there.
  8. Here's something I hope Nival fix in the expansion. When you're shooting at a German (and an Ally when doing the Axis campaign, I assume) they don't care one bit! I'd love to be able to use a tactic like keeping a guy pinned down by sniper or SMG fire while someone circles around to get a shot at him, but it doesn't work because they seem to be fearless! The mad fools...
  9. Here's a little tip for shooting through doors (contrary to what I just posted in a different thread, but never mind): If you think there might be a guard on the other side, use a full burst. Otherwise, you might only just blast the door open giving the guard on the other side a chance to shoot back first.
  10. I'm having a bit of a problem with moving up and down on staircases, mostly due to the interrupt skill that I hate. If your team are all positioned to be pointing somewhere where I know an attack is going to come from, guns at the ready, there should be no question of who gets to shoot first. Oh well... Anyway, when I use a staircase I always do it SWAT team style, moving very slowly around it and always pointing in the direction the enemies could be. Due to that lamentable interrupt situation, though, they occasionally get shot to ribbons by someone waiting at the top or bottom with a machine gun. I think I might need a change of tactics, so does anybody have any pointers?
  11. Hmmm....I've never been able to do that. Surgical plasters are great for generic healing, and those forcep thingies sometimes remove critical conditions, but I've never been able to stop bleeding.
  12. You know they're not all locked, right? When they are, though, I just use a short burst from any automatic or semiautomatic weapon to open them - since my engineer still can't pick locks. The most useful stuff I find in them is ammo and surgical plasters.
  13. I'm afraid the only question I can answer is the one about skill and damage. Having higher-level people will mean their shooting, burst, snipe skills etc will be higher. This will translate to more accurate shooting and probably greater damage, yes. For example, when I started playing my sniper was barely different from a soldier, but today she managed to do 117 points of damage in a single shot (whereas the other guys do less than half of that with their own rifles).

    Best Team

My team: Katerina "Kat" Petrov - Soldier and squad leader Zinaida - Sniper Elf - Scout Ramos - Soldier Oleg - Engineer Abala - Medic Kat is an ace all-rounder but is slightly better with rifles than anything else. She's really tough too, and can take a lot of punishment. She's also incredibly brave, and has pulled off many a daring rescue and has managed to get imperilled teammates out of danger countless times. A fantastic and worthy leader! Zinaida has already become a superb sniper. Today she made her best shot ever, which was a one-hit kill (not a placed shot) on a Nazi who must have been more than 100 yards away. I was astounded! The hit did about 117 points of damage, by the way. Elf is starting to become pretty sneaky, she gets spotted by the enemy less and less often. She's my pistol ace - woe betide any Nazi who gets within shooting distance of her silenced pistol, because he'll be dead before he knows it! Ramos is my machine gunner. He's pretty good at long shots too, but he always butchers enemies who foolishly get in the way of his Bren! Oleg is still useless when it comes to picking locks or disarming mines, so for the time being I use him as another machine gunner. Usually has a rearguard role. Abala...well, I love this guy. His staunch determination really endears me to him, and he's generally a pretty good medic too. He can usually heal a teammate of half their VPs in less than a single turn. Somehow, he's also become an excellent shot with a rifle. My team average level 7 at the moment, but they're already becoming a superb fighting unit. I love them all!
  15. Hello all, first post etc... How is everyone today? Let me get straight to business - I cannot stop my teammates bleeding. I get my medic to use haemostatic powder or whatever on people who have bleeding conditions, and the item disappears but the bleeding condition doesn't. I've never once successfully cured bleeding. I did search the forum for this question but couldn't find one, so apologies if it's already been asked. What can I do? Thanks very much in advance. By the way, I've tried using other things that cure critical conditions but they don't help either, neither do the things like surgical plasters.
