hehe just going by what i know, which i admit. but i did see a file called data4 on the second cd (installation CD) in fact it was the only one. but i see your point about the cd0 tho. weird one. but nothing surprises me with this game anymore

I think it means insert insallation CD. that has a Data4file on it. I think.

Just thought i'd pop in to say hi, have a cuppa and put my feet up. Now I finally got this cursed peice of software to work expect to see more of me on here. feel free to idolise me, greet me or throw rotten eggs at me. whatever takes your fancy. Now the big question is do i read the manual or just dive in. My brain says "read it you damn fool", wheras my male genes say "me no read! me go make aliens go squish". Ah that age old dilema of thoughtfull consideration or impatient need to make a mess. Anyway greetings, may all your enemies run away in fear and go to a nice holiday resort where they can relax, play shuffle board or something.

Slaughter m8ie could you put this reply or re-type it into the sticky plz. The problem i've found after a bit of delving into it is that the CD is currupt or should I say the Data is corrupt. The corruption seems to be in its installation file and refuses to recognise that this is a new install and also thinks that you have a previous version on it. Remedy: Take the disk back to the retailer and demand an exchange (or money back if you wish). The new game i received works fine and do not seem to have any further problems as yet. thanks. I posted on official forums too (eventually when it let me) so gota wait and see now. I hope they can suggest a fix coz I'm a big fan of the original X:Com series and have been waiting for this for a while.
