  1. I see man, then it's all dandy. ;o) I just had to respond, hehe.. im pretty fed up with this kind of things happening to me, so i just had to make sure. no hard feelings ;o)
  2. Hey, well... where to start. Just saw the news about this new mod and that my sound mod was added. Funny i thought, seems very familiar. Whenever i do some of these enhancement mods to any game, they allways end's up in another dudes mod. The thing is that i don't really have anything against it, but all im asking is can't someone just ask me BEFORE?, but then again, i can't do shit about it. But all im asking is some respect. Aralez couldn't you have contacted me and we could have talked about this?. Then again, now it's too late. Other than this, i can't even find any credits or remote information in your readme that points out that you've used some of my sound mod?. Im at work now (As usually), so i can't really test the mod out. So can't you, or anyone else please explain what the features of this new mod has? I understand you just want to make a cool mod, but we really need to stick together we modders. Last time something like this happened to me, a dude just copied my entire mod and replaced my name with his. After that he had the guts to accuse ME of stealing his mod. Bah! It all ended up with me leaving the modding scene for that game. When doing mods, you spend most of your freetime creating it. Neglecting friends and loved ones just to get the that piece out to the fans of the game. And then seeing other people taking it apart really makes you sad. I in general different people do their small mods focused on different aspects of a game, like sound, tweaks and graphics. Thats swell, and i like that. Thats the way i think it should be. Different people, focusing on different things they do best. But what i don't like, is a second part, that takes all mods and slap em togheter to make some kind of "megamod" thingy out of it. (And, not giving the people credits for their parts). This might not be the case this time, since we really only can have one extra vfs file at the present. But i really feel that in the future, when we can have different mods running, we should have the mods separated so that people really can have the abillity to choose what aspects of the game they would like to change. The only lesson of this really should be. Try and ask modders for permission or what else before using their mods.
  3. I agree, Systemshock 2 is a kickass game ;o) as well for the creepy music hehe. Actually, i allready have a music mod thingy going.. i did it right after the soundeffects, but i didn't include it in my first release of my sound mod because of the filesize. It's not systemshock 2 music, but rather a mix of different smaller intros and outros. The game is set up with i think it was about 9 sets of short music bits. And they are played either randomly or in a sequence. My plans are to replace the first 9, and then look into the possibilities of adding some more. other than this, i've found 3 sets of ambient background atmos, and i hope i can add some more to that too ;o) Anyway, i have to try that xcom music mod first, seems like a cool one ;o)

    Sound Enhancement

    Hey there fellow aliens ;o) Im happy to announce that my sound enhancement for UFO Aftermath is ready. It uses the cfg.vfs mod method to replace just about all the weapon sounds in the game. Although it's just v1.0 Beta it will be fully functional. ;o) This first release features only replacement sounds, but future releases will have support for individual sounds for all weapons and hopefully aliens too. More on future improvements later. I will upload it as fast as possible and you should be able to get after that.

    Redoing Sounds

    Yeah, new characters would be cool... im not to sure how many there is in the game at this point? but im guessing it's quite a few, that gets selected random for your squad setup. Right?

Dude, sigget your the man! *pistol gesture with both hands* ;o) hehe, now i acctually can start and test my custom sounds, hehe.. i've spent the past couple of days digging up all sounds i've ever got my hands on, so now i'll really start putting this baby together ;o) it's hard though, with work and girlfriend that takes up so much time, hehe.. if i was an unemployed single guy i would crank out mods like Sims expansions ;o) and hey.. the reason i posted this reply, thanx sigget, great work!

    Redoing Sounds

    I agree that the weapon sounds are poor, and this too me is a big factor that impacts this game. The atmosphere is well setup with the scenes and plot and all that.. even the music is rather good.. but the soundeffects really puts me of then playing. Anyway, im also in the works of a sound replace mod, it will feature some of the best weapon sounds i've managed to both find and reproduce through out the years. I've been making "enhancement" mods for a few years now, and i'll use some of my previous work used in both quake and other game paks. My initial plans are just to fix up the soundeffects, i will not take the challenge to remake all the voices ;o) It's a big task but would be nice if it was possible.. i mean, hello.. i turned off the unit voices about 5 sec into the game. hehe. Keep up the work "Nameless" we really need to get some new sounds ;o)

    Modder Index!

    Hey dudes! My name is GurkoZ and i thought that it would be nice to let you know im working on a mod to bring better and more quality sounds to this game. I've worked on a number of "enhancement" mods in the past and i hope i can contribute something to this game also. I never do real kind of mods where you would change the aspect of the game, but rather fix things up to get a better feel and gaming experience. I think UFO:AM is a great game, but it's sad that the weapon sounds are so mediocre. So this will be my first mission with this game. To bring more punch and atmos into our guns and effects. I might be a nit picker but poor weapon sound distract me from enjoying the game to it's full extent. Stay tuned ;o)
