Exactly the same thing happened to me last week Strahd . Funny thing is, I kept a backup of gamedata.vfs all the time I was doing modding but only deleted it last week for disk space. Just my luck eh . I've not re-installed UFO:A yet and not sure I will. I think I might move on, I hear Silent Storm is pretty good . PS. Don't worry, I no way blame sigget, it was probably just my stupid fault, doH! Bloody newbs eh?
Thanks for the feedback davemartinez_34, I'll get round to improving it one of these days I'm afriad creating a plugin for 3DS, Lightwave or Maya is way beyond my abilities, so siggit's the man for the job. I'd preferably like to see a plugin for 3DS cos I've got a bit of experience with it. I've used Lightwave but only very very little.
Try renaming cfg.vfs to modSoundEn.vfs . I wasn't around here in the ol' cfg.vfs days so I'm not 100% sure this will work. PS. Slaughter, there seem to be quite a few mods missing from http://www.ufoaftermath.co.uk/?c=Mods&p=mods#mods . I know the ALPine plugins have their own section, but some plugins are listed at the above link as well. PPS. Where is the link to http://www.ufoaftermath.co.uk/?c=Mods&p=mods#mods from the website? I can only seem to find links to the seperate sections. ???
I really don't like the idea of them speaking their mother language, and lets not get started on it being "relasitic" eh? The voices are helpful to know when an event or situation occurs. It won't be very useful if you haven't got a clue to what they're mumbling on about . Besides, I only speak English and a bit of french. Anyway, I'm off to bed... bonjour
Yea, the blood patch modifies the particle settings. What do you mean by "lagged down"? The game slows down when there's a lot of fire/smoke on screen? Go to tactical\particles and find the fire effect/s that you want change. Try decreasing the NUM_OF_PARTICLES setting.
You do know you can still listen to the enemy hit/death screams without hearing the soldiers voices, yea? For those that don't know, uncheck: Options > Miscellaneous > Unit Messages I just tested it and it works alright for me I thought the introduction of the enemy screams were welcomed, I didn't realise people wanted to mute them
There doesn't look like there's much interest, so I wouldn't make it your top priority . Though if you still want to do it, here are some of the sayings that are needed Scream - Ouch - Under attack - Under fire - doH! Plan completed - What next? - Requesting orders Target dead - Got him Target unconscious - I think I got him Confirmation attack - I'll get him - He's all mine - Leave it to me Confirmation generic - Will do - Yes sir - Acknowledged Confirmation move - Moving out No ammo - I'm out of ammo - I need ammo! No route - I can't get there Generic spotted - Enemy spotted - Hostile spotted - Incoming! Those are just some, for the rest see share\sound\wavs\exclamations . Of course, they don't have to be exactly the same words, think of different ways to say the same thing, if you know what I mean
Just a small mod to make a couple of changes to the geosphere view. The game refers to the helicopter as a Chinook but it only has one rotor. Maybe half a Chinook? . I didn't like the way UFO's and friendly aircraft were both red, so I changed that as well. Overview: - Changes the geoshpere helicopter model to a Chinook. - Changes the colour of friendly aircraft (Chinook, Eurofighter, F16 and F18) to blue. You will need ALPine to use this mod. The Chinook could still look better, but I had to edit the vertices of the model manually. Lets hope there's a model editor soon Download chinook.alp 25KB
