TheSaint01
Hi all! Quick question, since I can't find Silent storm gold anywhere at a reasonable price (Amazon has it for 80 to 100 US), I was wondering if Sentinels was a standalone expansion or must I have S2 to install and play it? Also, does anyone know of a place to buy the gold version for it's release price of $20? Thanks in advance
Zombie
Welcome, TheSaint. Sentinels is indeed a stand alone game. You don't need SS to play the sequel, though you'll probably get more out of the series if you have both. As for where to find the gold version, don't go to Amazon unless you have exhausted all other options. I got my gold version off eBay for cheap (under $30 IIRC), though your cost will obviously vary. - Zombie

Per your message, I did not need Silent Storm to play Sentinels. Now I have a Sentinels coaster. Is there any way around this? ie - registry edit, using the demo (I have tried this and it did not work), etc? Please help
FullAuto
That's odd. It's definitely a stand-alone expansion. It simply won't install?
TheSaint01
That's odd. It's definitely a stand-alone expansion. It simply won't install? Unfortunately not. Directly when the installation starts it states "Silent storm not found, please install..." with the only option given being "ok". After pressing "ok" the install stops and drops me back to the desktop. I can't even begin to install Sentinels. This is very frustrating as my understanding was that Silent Storm was not needed to install Sentinels. Any help would be greatly appreciated. FullAuto
All I can suggest off the top of my head is if you have an S2 or S3 demo installed, get rid of it and try again. I don't have my copy of S3 handy, but I will find it and make 100% sure it is a stand-alone title. I'm prepared to swear it is, but then I always had it installed at the same time as S2, so I never actually tested it out. Will get back to you ASAP. FullAuto
I'm sad and confused to announce that the back of the box declares that you do need S2 to play S3. I'd just find a plain copy of S2 and you're sorted, then.

I'd just find a plain copy of S2 and you're sorted, then. Thanks FullAuto. Unfortunetly, there are no copies of S2 available that I am aware. That is why I created this post in the first place. There are no copies of Gold or S2 on Ebay. On Amazon they are extremely expensive. My copy of Sentinels asks for the UK version of S2 anyway. So I guess I have a coaster now. Oh well, the game looked good and I enjoyed the demo. Perhaps it will end up on GOG at some point. Again, I appreciate your help
FullAuto
Yep, keep your eye on GOG, I think it'll turn up on there soonish. Best of luck.
