Exe22
does developers and their kind get a dictionary where the only word is "it will be out when its out"?
Strahd
Well it's more like a motto to us since one can never predict how much work will be done (well how much time will be needed) to comple the project he/she is working on not to mention the bug fixes.Hence: It will be out when it's out. Pete
Indeed. I've tried to set dates for new site features in the past and my last set date is the only one I've hit in 3+ years of web designing for fun It's a constant dilemma - you get moaned at if you miss the deadline, you get moaned at if you don't set one The only advantage I have with web designing as a hobby here is that I can... neglect to mention a new feature that I'm working on and then just spring it on everyone once it's done. Unfortunately, you can't do that in the real world. It's even worse in the real world when someone gives you a deadline which is laughable at best and they don't understand why you're rolling around in stitches on the floor when something incredibly complex like decoding the human genome (sp?) is given a deadline of "the end of tomorrow" or something. That's an extreme example, but anyone who's ever worked in their life will know what I'm on about - it's not just limited to software developers
