[AS] - Shooting over prone characters

Hello guys, just to say that my copy of the game is in the post :( , so still have not played it, but was particularly worried about not being able to shoot over prone characters (or flatsters for that matter).

In my mind this is a major bug. I would like to know if anyone has any information on whether this bug is going to be addressed in the first patch. I mean they (developers that is) have said that most serious gameplay issues are going to be addressed (and this one is very importnat for me) but have not mentioned but a very few.

Having said that, can some people out there that have played the game tell me how disruptive is that particular bug to their game?

How much of a problem was it to work around it?

Thanks to everybody in advance... :(

It has actually not been much of a problem for me. True, when fighting in tight interiors, it can become frustrating, but generally, it has not disrupted the effectivness of my guys.

There are the rare occasions when an enemy approaches from the 'right' angle that several of my men cant shoot at him, but it has never cost me any lives.

I think I may be able to help with this one actually.

Sometimes, when "prone" your soldiers are not really "prone" but are "on their way"

The soldiers need a considerable amount of room to go prone, and once you've lined them up all nice and prone, you can move the crouching soldiers about 3 squares behind them and successfully shoot over them.

I've now had a couple of successful missions where I've proceeded like this and only had <5% chance to hit the friendly targets ahead. Much better than the 60%+ "I can't do that" type shots.

O O O  (squaddies lying down - actually takes up 3 squares as the soldier extends into surrounding forward/backward spaces)
