  1. Hope so. In fact ALTAR's already working on two projects . I wonder what the other one is (if the other one is a sequel for UFO: AM)..
  2. I've had atleast 16 transgenants to eliminate. Might be I had 18 transgenants once but I'm really not sure. I also had 14 rets in a UFO once.
  3. Some basic tactics and advice. - The use of 2 handguns at the same time is useless. It will only shoots with the one in the "active" hand. Anyway, don't use pistols, and look at your soldier's statistics when choosing a weapon for him. For example, if his rating at Marksmanship skill is Good, Rifles skill Poor and Handguns skill Good, you should probably choose a sniper rifle for long range, and an UZI kind of weapon for short range. - Always have a couple of grenades with every soldier. Smoke grenades will be useful if you can use them right and once you get them if you haven't already. Remember, you can throw grenades over obstacles, and you can destroy obstacles (except buildings) with them. - The ammo type of every conventional weapon is either Hard, Universal or Soft. Once you have researched an autopsy of an enemy, you'll know what kind of weapons/ammunition are best against it. - Personally, I always walk when looking for enemies, or when just moving somewhere. I run only when I have to. Why? Because when you walk, your Observation and Stealth skills are more efficient than when running. i.e. when you walk, you will not be seen so easily and you will see the enemies easily. When you run, you will be seen quite easily and the enemies will hide from you more easily. - Use ambush tactics. That is probably only possible in city and base missions, where you should use rifles, UZIs and shotguns for ambushes. When you're in the open, don't use close combat weapons (see the statistics of the weapons to see the max and efficient ranges of the weapon) as your main weapon. Rifles, sniper rifles etc. are good for open terrain missions. - Light armor is very light, so you will want to use both helmet and body armor. It gives you much better protection against the human guns than just clothes. You did know that there are enemies that carry human-made weapons, didn't you? - Don't try playing a in this game. Off you go!
  4. OH MAN! Thanks for reminding me that I can actually name the characters! I'm already playing the second time UFO: AM and already at second Area 51. I was supposed to name the characters like this: Once I have 15 Guys, I keep them and fire all recruits. Then I form three 5-man squads: Basic team (against transgenants minus base capture). Anti-Ret team(alien bases and UFOs, 1st and 2nd Area 51) and Interior Specialist team (base defence, base capture minus alien ones). Then I would make the soldiers specialised in something, depending on what team is the soldier in. Everyone would have atleast 1 medikit. The basic team would have something like 1 sniper, 1 grenadier and 2 riflemen and 1 alien-weaponry specialised guy (the others would use conventional weapons). The Anti-Ret team would have 2 snipers 2 heavy troopers with collapsible weapons and 1 closecombat guy/grenadier. The Interior Specialist team would have 1 heavy trooper with a collapsible weapon, 1 medic /grenadier and 3 closecombat guys with one of these (order by game progression) SMG/shotgun, flamer and microslug accelerator/warp demo device. Sounds good huh? I made that all up as I wrote. ALL of it. But I'm still gonna make all that happen. --- This tactic is patented by Lambda Co. Finland. No no just kidding use it if u want to. Seriously, tell me if u like that tactic. Thanks
  5. I've realised that collapsible weapons are as good as a minigun or a resonator, if not better. I always have at least 1 collapsible turret with me if the mission is against the Reticulans (if it's against transgenants, I go solo). I always just deploy the turrets and give them some room by moving the others (snipers mostly) to a good shelter. If an alien comes to my LOS, he's dead! Even if the percent to hit is 15-25% the alien still dies in matter of seconds regardless of what armor he wears. I recommend collapsible weapons. I can now play a  against the :alien2: s. No need for s here .
