March 9, 200719 yr Can someone tell me why I no longer automatically log into the forum? I'm using Firefox 1.5.0.10 and cookies are enabled for this site. This is a bug which was reported to the IPS guys quite a while ago. So far it seems they can't reproduce it and thus a true "fix" doesn't exist. The problem is that there are so many darn settings/security features now that some are bound to interfere with each other. I have changed a board cookie setting so check to see if that fixes the problem. If not, there are a couple possible solutions we can try to keep the board secure and still let members stay logged in. Also be aware that your board cookie login key is only active for 7 days due to security issues (a hacker could hijack your login session and thus masquerade as yourself). Any longer than this is just asking for trouble. Like NKF, I would highly recommend upgrading to the latest version of Firefox. It is more secure and also handles today's more complex internet features. - Zombie
March 10, 200719 yr I just can't keep up with these upgrades! That's the curse of sticking adamantly to dial-up. Actually I might as well switch to using my new (and mostly unused) laptop for net browsing. That has a bleeding edge copy of Firefox on it, so shouldn't be an issue. Uh, ditto on the auto log-in. - NKF
March 10, 200719 yr Always recommended to keep your FireFox upgraded, current version is 2.0.0.2 THanks Guys. BTW I am up to date with the current version of Firefox 1, I just never upgraded to Firefox 2. Looks like I now have a reason for doing so though! EDIT: Upgrade to Firefox 2 has solved the problem. Thanks again!
March 15, 200719 yr Strange, I haven't had a chance to switch over yet (have to work out the logistics of moving all my stuff over), but the auto-login problem seems to have resolved itself. Curiouser and curiouser. Don't tell me someone's quietly gone and done something in the background eh? Own up! - NKF
March 15, 200719 yr I must have had to change the cookie settings about four times during the upgrade, so maybe your browser is now using one the site likes. It's amazing how long these things get stored in the cache.
March 15, 200719 yr Well, I made a few minor changes but that was a while back. I disabled a thing called the "stronghold" cookie as this was a new feature of the software and I wasn't sure if everyones computer would be able to handle it properly. I also made sure the cookie expiration was set to 7 days (IPS recommendation). Saved cookies (even on the board) would thus require a week to clear out of the system so most likely time fixed the problem as we are now 7 days since the changes were made. Patience is a virtue I guess. - Zombie
March 24, 200719 yr I still seem to be getting the problem of FF not remembering my login, meaning I have to login each time I visit the forums. It also decided to log me out while going from the forum front page to this Announcements and Feedback section.
March 24, 200719 yr What FF version are you using and are you sure you deleted all Strategycore related cookies?
March 24, 200719 yr The latest version, 2.0.0.3.I did delete all the cookies relating to strategycore a few days ago and it still didn't work. However I've just done it again and it appears to be working at the moment.
March 24, 200719 yr It happened to me as well when I upgraded from 2.0.0.2 to 2.0.0.3, but now it works fine.

June 30, 200718 yr Not to be a spelling nazi or anything, but this sub-forum is titled "Announcements & Feeback". Note the missing d in Feedback. Just thought I'd point out.
June 30, 200718 yr I thought that was a British spelling or something. Anyhow, it's fixed now. - Zombie
July 2, 200718 yr Author I thought that was a British spelling or something. Anyhow, it's fixed now. - ZombieYep, it's called "Peteish"...
July 3, 200718 yr I've just noticed something minor on the boards: when you hover the mouse over a poster's nick the font change causes a not-so-elegant height change in the table row. Should be easy enough to fix, though, I think. :: p.s.: you can really 'rock the house' if you find a sweet spot with the mouse a little under the nick as it goes into 'auto-mode', continually switching back between the two sizes until you move the cursor away.
