Love or Hate
This is easy to sort out. Try what I did.
Bought game (memories of very first X-com),
Would not run on any of my home machines (perks of working in IT support),
Ah well, stick it on the shelf, can play it one day when I can lay my hands on a decent machine (with a family I cannot afford to buy),
Read reviews, all a bit negative, you know the stuff..
How long has it been since release ?
Wangled decent laptop from work 2 days ago..... runs pretty good.
So as far as I am concerned it is BRILLIANT, even with all the minor gripes.

From playing for a total of about 6 hours (have to work unfortunately) I would like to see:

1) Time option on the Wait command
2) Aggressive Fire, Defensive Fire and No Fire options
3) Prone stance option
4) More ZOOM IN on the camera

At the moment (this will change) I like plotting a complete path through the mission.

Glad to hear you're happy so far. People tend to get the worst of it when they face the difficulty leap though...

4: Did you try pressing * at your numeric keyboard? That gets you VERY close...

Thanks Slaughter.
Please tell me that * thing is not in the manual..
And yeah I am playing Easy at the moment, mainly to get used to the interface. And I have not played around with any of the options.
Biggest problem (and 1 downside of forums) is figuring out if there are any bugs, I cannot research Power Cells although I appear to have what is needed.
But not bothered about that yet.

Did you patch the game to version 1.2? The powercell problem should be solved there (as long as you started a new game after adding the patch).

I know this is the wrong forum to continue this line of conversation, so to finish off, had a quick look and I have lots of Energy Cells for weapons but nothing that says Power Cell (I take it this what is needed to power the Zalcon rifle). This is possibly an example of what I mean about forums.. have others made the same type of mistake as me?
Again, thanks for the welcome and quick responses (do you really do this all day!)

Human (hybrid manufactured) energy cells power hybrid energy weapons such as the Laser Gun, Laser Pistol, Plasma Rifle, and Plasma Shotgun. Powercells contain twice the charge capacity of energy cells. I didn't get powercells until quite late in the game, but that is just me.
Both Chryssalids AND Lobstermen taste good with butter? What a great deal!

Never use the hybrid energy weapons. So never know.

[1) Time option on the Wait command]

It is there, press W to queue a wait command so that game do not stop. Can also change at the option interfaces.

Must have very different options to me. I was thinking more along the lines of WAIT ??? units of time before next action.
Not that important as I will turn all of that stuff off soon.

If you move the group, at each waypoint the group waits for the slowest member to catch up. (so the option must exist in the code).
