More Bloody Fun

It's no longer a secret. The scouts we've fielded confirm that Cyanide Studio has been prepping an infamous return to the pitch for a year now and fully intend to follow up on the heady cocktail of turn-based strategy that was their first adaptation of Games Workshop's boardgame with a bludgeoning Blood Bowl 2!

We've spared no blows but for the moment naught more could be pried from them oher than the teasing footage revealed and the following:

In Blood Bowl 2, Jim & Bob will be with us, flesh and blood, throughout the game. They will be modelled, and animated in their Cabalvision studio that will be the main interface for the game!

The whole game will be presented in a Cabalvision theme – the official Blood Bowl TV! – where Jim & Bob will guide players, comment their decisions and will even interview key star players appearing in the huge campaign mode. Of course, they will also grace us with their wild commentaries during the matches!

Jim Johnson the Vampire, and Bob Bifford the Ogre ex-star player of Blood Bowl will no doubt have plenty more snarky remarks to offer. Yet, presently not a word has been flung, even tauntingly, with regards to the date of the sequel's kick-off and their return to prominence.

Here's the related blurb:

The first playable team, fully modelled and animated, has just made an appearance on the pitch of the Blood Bowl 2 stadium. As you can see, the human players have the honour of entering the pitch first and will also be the stars of the massive solo campaign in Blood Bowl 2 as you lead the legendary Reikland Reavers and experience an epic saga packed with risk, dangers and spectacular matches on the way to winning the Blood Bowl.

These two screenshots show the human, Blitzer, one of the most versatile players on the human teams, in action and ready to face whatever the opposing team can throw at him!

Blood Bowl 2 can now unveil one of the most important elements: the first-ever Blood Bowl 2 stadium. While the cement is hardly dry, fans are already packed in and waiting for the carnage in these two screenshots.

Orc clans from all over the Old World worked like crazy to build this magnificent stadium. Human and goblin teams will be inaugurating it under the sharp eye of the totally-unbiased goblin referee, who has almost certainly been bribed by one of the teams. Probably both.

Their beards freshly trimmed and their Bugman’s Beer mug locked to their belt, the Dwarfs finally enter the pitch of their newly inaugurated stadium! One thing is for sure: they’re definitely not here to play the ball, and the Human team who have the honour (or misfortune) to face them first will certainly testify to that.

Unlikely, silencer. Coverage I'll provide, so granting the benefit of the doubt, but that's about it.

Any showings of enthusiasm should be well left for post-release, given the track record of support of previous entries in the series.
