You Know You Want It

It has been well proven. The years go by but way up in the list of best space strategy games of all time firmly remains Microprose's masterpice, Master of Orion II, with few contenders appearing since its release to really surpass its crowning achievements. But at Idea-L-Center they claim we should want M.O.R.E.

Space strategy M.O.R.E. - Military, Organization, Research, Exploration - is a worthy successor to classic turn-based 4X games. During development, the focus has been to create a worthy heir to the best game of this genre, Master of Orion II - released in 1996.

(...) a game that decidedly breaches the prevailing status quo, re-igniting the desire of thousands of players to explore and conquer the universe. Our aim is to recreate the syndrome "Just one more turn ...".

The moreish features:

• Turn Based (tactical) space battles
• Big, three-dimensional battlefield
• Full 3D galactic map
• 80 kinds of planets
• Space monsters
• 20 different alien races
• A separate branch of technology for each race
• A separate interface for each race
• Designing spacecraft from parts, 50 parts of spaceship elements for each race
• More than 300 heroes / leaders

After last year's successful Kickstarter campaign we now hear the game will become available for pre-order "in the coming weeks" to secure extra funding for, you know, more to be guaranteed, while also granting access to the Alpha and, later, Beta builds of the game.

The release date is presently set for June of 2014.
