What a Band!

They don't play guitar on the MTV, but they sure rock. Kiritsu Games' elite Band of Drones certainly looks like a class act and we have reason to believe they're going places with their eclectic mix of tactical jamming and distinctive character building.

So what's the tune exactly?

You control a squad of drones (each with their own class skills and special powers) and must devise a strategy to complete the mission at hand.

Band of Drones keeps the basic mechanics of traditional turn based squad tactics gameplay and goes beyond it with character and weapons development.

You can play in single player mode or together with friends online. You can also modify the game, creating your own mission maps, drones and weapons...

Join the fight for the underground riches of planet Crixius! The Zentris have already placed their drones around several locations, you need to infiltrate their outposts and kick them out of there!

On the playlist:

• Command a squad of 6 different drones, each with unique class specifications and special powers
• Evolve your drones along your campaign, purchasing upgrades to their powers and weapon handling capabilities
• Purchase new weapons and upgrade the ones you have, from a selection of cannons and missile launchers
• Get mods for your weapons to improve their performance
• Different mission goals such as Assassination, Object Recovery, Military Escort, Destroy Structure, Protect Object, Purge and Withdraw
• Non-linear single player campaign (with story), spawning 20 missions over 4 scenarios
• Create your own levels/missions with the included level editor
• Multiplayer: play online as Alien or Human in 2 to 4 player battles, co-op or competitive
• Local co-op for 2 players

Think this might just be your groove? Then show your support by Greenlighting the game. We are told to expect something playable by January 2013 or thereabouts.

You are further encouraged to give some feedback to the developer in this thread over at our forums.

Now look at them yo-yo's in the trailer - that's the way you do it!
