Plummeting Metal of Unfairness

by on 21st Jan 2013

No, this is in no way related to your national currency. It's a different business altogether that of DataSmugglers' Ironfell, a multiplayer strategy game where no fairness need apply; or so we hear.

In this case the lack of fairness can work to your advantage, as the more time you put into it the greater your edge.

But here's an overview of this Kiwi indie offering:

Embark on an epic crusade across all of space and time in real time. From humble beginnings in a safe green valley, explore and conquer thousands of realms by land and by sea.

Collect resources, build an army, and crush those who dare challenge you (or just plant flowers and raise ponies).

There are 64 different unit types in Ironfell with 50 more, including time machines and dinosaurs, on the way. And things are just getting started. Buckle up baby, 'cause we're blasting off into space!

That latter part shall purportedly arrive in an 'epic expansion'.

The game has just recently launched in earnest across multiple platforms, after half a year spent in beta honing it all, and everyone plays together in a massive persistent universe.

To join in on the fun you need not drop any cold hard cash either. So, all told, and in all fairness, very uplifting actually.
