Breaking new ground. Aspiring to become the new standard by which all the rest are measured by. Such is what Belgian studio Abrakam is aiming to do with their upcoming browser-based strategy card game Faëria.

Faëria has been designed to become the new benchmark in terms of Strategy Card Game (SCG).

Faëria is a 1 on 1 turn based game mixing the board game genre with tradable cards, coupled to an online interface where you can meet, challenge and trade with players around the world. With your opponent, you build and destroy the board as you play: land placement is determinant, it's the space that will be occupied with creatures and strucutres. This is the foundation of a never-seen-before experience, but there is more to it. Unlike most digital Trading Card Games (TCG), Faëria strives to extend the genre with a strategic dimension: tactical battles, resource management and ground control...

When you step into the world of Faeria you are immersed into legends of old, you cast exclusive powers of enchanted tribes, risking your life against gods who fight for supremacy.

Build up new strategies, collect cards, play solo mode or compete in tournaments: you will never play the same faeria game twice !

The ambitious features:

• The land configuration, the cards you draw, the strategy you operate... Everything is different every game, the potential for diversity immense
• Server unique cards
• A crafting system that lets you design and play with your own cards
• Ante mode - each player bets cards and the winner takes them all!
• The release will count over 250 different cards with 5 levels of rarities, from common to legendary
• Enter tournaments, challenge the best and make them taste your own strategy. Drafting will also be part of the package!

Unlike most other offerings currently available this will not be a free-to-play offering; play to win, not pay to win looks to be a part of the chosen approach.

After four years in the making, the game is finally ready to go beta this month, and a kickstarter project appears to be next on the draw pile too. Those looking to join the beta can sign-up for it at the official site.
