Some use 'em, some want 'em. We're referring to brains, an important asset, and wichever side of that fence you happen to be on, staying on your toes is what you'll want to do to succeed in World Zombination, Proletariat's upcoming game.

World Zombination is "a faction-based real-time strategy game on a global scale!"

The game features a constantly changing world map that allows guilds and players to team up and work together to control the world in real-time and on a massive scale.

We are creating a world that is both beautiful and utterly devastated (...)

In World Zombination, players choose between The Infected and The Survivors and fight with (and against!) their friends to control cities around the world. With compelling and asymmetrical moment-to-moment gameplay, the choice of faction gives a totally different experience and is a new take on real-time strategy combat. The Infected players control a horde of hundreds of zombies while The Survivors control a band of heroes trying to hold off the onslaught.

Further specifics about faction gameplay haveĀ surfaced at Polygon:

(...) players (...) choose different classes of characters within factions (...) If players support the zombies, their missions will consist of real-time strategy gameplay where they control hordes of zombies and decide which humans to mutate. They can mutate humans into different unit types, which perform different functions (...)

The gameplay for the human team is more like a tower defense game, where players can deploy units and decide on squad formations to defend themselves against the zombie hordes. Both sides will have to manage and upgrade their units and army, and use them to fight over cities.

Things seem pretty much in flux still in some respects and the 'Survivor' trailer will purportedly only debut in the Fall, but the developers have stated they shall be revealing more in the coming time. With their attendance to PAX Prime confirmed for later this month, we won't even need to crack their skulls open to get more to munch on - we'll let the journalists there do the finer prying.

Brainpower will surely be on demand, with release scheduled for 2014.
