An Accruing Of Might

There are new tidings in the world of Spectromancer. The online fantasy card game created by Richard Garfield alongside other veteran game designers has just been graced with a novel expansion.

In case you happened to overlook this title here's a brief overview:

In Spectromancer (...) players participate in a magical duel against other mages by strategically summoning creatures and casting spells. Each mage uses five magical elements during a duel - Fire, Water, Air and Earth, plus a fifth related to the specific mage type. There are six mage types in the game: Clerics use Holy power; Mechanicians use Mechanics; Necromancers use Death; Chaosmasters use Chaos; Dominators uses Control and Illusionists use Illusions. Players are able to duel against the computer or against other online players live.

The expansion now released is called Gathering of Power and it brings the following:

Gathering of Power expansion introduces 4 new classes: Warrior Priest, Vampire Lord, Cultist and Golem Master.

Other improvements:
• Visual appearance of the game in fullscreen mode was improved (especially in Windows 7).
• Campaign was changed. Players now start the campaign with all cards unlocked, and learn upgrades to the cards during the campaign. Upgraded versions of cards are available in the campaign only.
• Now it is possible to select cards and slots with arrow keys (useful on laptops).
• Blitz duels were implemented in the online league. Each player has 15 seconds for their turn - these battles are quick as lightning!
• Good news for players with unreliable internet connections: now it is possible to reconnect after a broken connection and finish the duel.

Existing players should keep in mind that campaign save games or replay files they may have are not compatible with this new expansion, which is now available on Steam.
