  1. I don't remember the queen being necessary for toxin c research either. I think it's required for the toxin gas grenade though (which I never used because toxin-c was so powerful anything in view for 3 seconds was dead). I found cloaking devices very useful for shooting aliens such as the mega spawn from a long range to weaken them. I have a psi-agent probing the mega spawn to check his life before moving in with stun grapples or grenades. One tactic I use to try and capture the Micronoid aggregate without androids is to rush in with a group of 3 or 4 psi agents (sectoids) and if anyone is affected by psi control, I psi-control them back. Of course this has a lot of luck because you may not be lucky enough to control your agents guys back. Be glad you only armed them with grapples and shields .
  2. Keep up the good work, I've just looked at the screenshots (after fumbling around the website) and I was very impressed! The music is great as well!
  3. The popper alien has to be the most annoying alien during the early stages of the game. It's really frightening if a popper or two manages to get behind your squad when your shooting at aliens on the other side of the room. The multiworm is also a nasty alien, during early stages of the game. Later on, yeah they aren't so nasty, but it's like that with UFO and tftd when you can just mind control everyone so they can't even move! (yeah it's cheating I know)
  4. I found the tactical missions a lot harder without toxin guns, Although I was still able to kill aliens with disrupter guns! It got really hard and annoying when the aliens used entropy guns when I still hadn't researched energy shields yet! Even now though, I'd still like the number of aliens to be increased per mission . I'd especially like the UFOs to start attacking the city, but then again I guess that ruins the aspects of politics, and makes all companies allied to me.
  5. I would be interested to see the outcome of this too. I have no idea about how much selling rights to a brand of games that don't exist, maybe he should do some research in case he gets ripped off!
  6. Thanks for the tips although other than the anti toxin gun usuage, I kinda feel cheated for using less powerful methods of killing aliens. I've decided to limit myself to disrupter guns at most and earth tech (no toxin guns of course) and to only have explorer craft as fighting units (which have the same amount of room as hawks). Still I'd rather have more aliens to kill by modification than weakening my own forces
  7. From what I understood about the tentaculat creatures, if they go into a melee attack then your guy is a zombie, the reason they do multiple attacks is because the AI is still attacking an alive XCom guy and he only turns into a zombie at the end of the alien's turn. Oh yeah, I managed to finish the game whilst only finishing 1 artifact site, was there actually any point to them? By the time the 2nd one was found, I could do the final mission so I went for that rather than messing around with these missions...
  8. I think that companies have a "an enemy of my enemy, is my ally" attitude. I seem to recall completely levelling off one of Psyche's buildings and Diablo suddenly turned from hostile to allied. I also had the COS be friendly towards me early on in the game, until I started doing alien missions then they started raiding me
  9. Is there a way to modify apocalypse so it's really really hard? I was a bit dissappointed that when I killed all the alien craft in the alien dimension, none of them respawned (I was also annoyed that I didn't get a massive invasion from the aliens like I did in my first game). Is it just me or that the fact that toxin guns completely avoid personal shields make the game so much easier? Is there a way to modify the game so that toxin guns damage shields, maybe the same amount as a law pistol? I also wouldn't mind there being more aliens per mission either. I would also like to see more alien attempts at levelling the city earlier on in the game and these attempts with even more aliens ships. Sure the game is quite hard the first time round, but the 2nd time even on superhuman, I found it a lot easier when I knew what I was doing. I have to admit, I do reload the game, but I kinda get attached to agents when they've survived dozens of combat missions. Okay that's my wishlist done
