  1. I love the fact this game is so hard............well cept for the Bio Drones. 100+% accuacy on a snapshot/reaction shot when playing on Superhuman sucks. So does wasting 5 Guass Rifle clips on a lobsterman only to have him get up 3 turns later to chop up one of your men(playing with out sound sucks in those cases) My first lobsterman Terror Site was on a island, I learned my lesson quick that day. Took out one Bio Drone that was up above a hill in some trees, and a lobsterman that was on the roof of the hotel looking down on my LZ, and the Lobsterman near by. I MCed him, found out he was a navigator thermal shocked him like 3 times. I sent three men out(all freash rookies) out to grab him(2 of the three wound up being bait) and as much equipment as I could and chucked him into the Triton. Pretty sure I dusted off leaving that one brave rookie on the island all alone. Oh and as to the last mission, if your smart and careful(IE don't go gun happy and kill everything before moving on) you can make it through the first and second levels of T'Leth with just one man(armed with two sonic cannons, 4 clips each and a belt full of gernades) But don't expect him to get anywhere in the third, I always got screwed by having two too many lobstermen in close procimty to each other
  2. I've had the bezerking thing happen before too. It was the oddest way too. I was playing TFTD, Mag Ion armour and sonic cannon armed men stormed a MC activity site, I killed like only 3 aliens, found the entrance tot he lower portion had the last guy with TUs drop down a level and peer in. There was just one tasoth standing there, I shot(can't remember if I hit or missed). Ended my turn and the that Tasoth went bezerk, and emptied his entire sonic rifle at my man(hit him like 7or 9 times, 15+fatal wounds), my turned came up I shot him and killed him and checked his body, his gun had I think a full clip minus one round. This other time I started a game built my base in europe, went through the usual first month stuff at the end of the month I was told we a alien base had been found in europe. So I looked, and there wasn't any, then a few days later a UFO popped up so I clicked on my base to send off an interceptor......thats when I found the base, Could either select from X-Com 1(actually back then I was naming them after Warhammer 40K chapters) or Alien Base-21.....thats not a typo that was his 21first base One odd but funny thing is in TFTD accidently shot my own man with a disrupter pulse launcher, 526 days in the hospital. I normaly place the first waypoint just any where, in this case a ways behind the guy. Its never hit him before but this time it did. I included TFTD cause well TFTD and UFO share probablly all of the same bugs and glitches and weirdness.
  3. I've seen it less then a dozen times. Once that window popped up, then after that came the window that says Live alien died due to lack of alien containment. Never knew you could get a live ones outta that sorta crash I've never seen it in UFO though, which is weird cause some of those crashed Small Scouts look like nothing, not even a lobsterman, could of walked outta. At one crash site the ship had onlt 2 walls, and 3 ceiling panels left. The rest was rubble.
  4. My research tree: Medikit, Guass-Guass Rifle and Guass clip, aqua plastics, personal armour, Sonic Rifle, Sonic Rifle Clip, sonic pulser, ion accelerator, sonic cannon, sonic cannon clip, and then make my way to mag ion armour
  5. The special theroy of relativity tells us that no particle which is moving more slowly than the speed of light can ever be accelerated to a speed faster than that of light. But there is symmetry in the equations which allos for the existence of particles that travel faster then light and can never be slowed down below the speed of light.
  6. I've seen them everywhere save for base defense, and port terror sites.......and I think colony missions too. They tag along with Tasoths sometimes, on those weird terror sites where they got tasoths, aquatoids, bio-drones and either a tricene or a Xarquid or both.
  7. I figure that if it was aimed to some distant homeworld then it would have to be a big beam, traveling thousands of light years past numerous stars and other big gravity wells would probably distort/disrupt/dissipate the beam. Since the Earth is much closer the beam would be at it's peak power and be friggin huge..............but that's just my opinion on it.
  8. Interesting tidbit, Mars has had other moons in the past. This is because of the elongated craters on the martian surface which suggests something coming in at a very shallow angle(instead of the very steep angle from an asteroid strike) which was most likly caused by something that's orbit around MArs had decayed enough to let it come down. Anyways, with the Tacyon Beam, I always figured it was pointed somewhere else not actually at the Earth, it just sorta got in the way or caught the edge of the beam.
  9. I like them all, was torn between terror site and recovery operations. Terror Sites are fun cause of all the hiding spots, all the sniping spots, all the big buildings you can level with a blaster launcher. Recovery Ops are fun cause you kinda fighting on the aliens terms. I don't find alien bases all that fun cause they're so predictable. Just like how on farmland sites there's always an laien at the top of the stairs in the barn. If this was TFTD I woulda voted for alien bases and terror sites for obvious reasons
  10. I thought this was already a well known fact. I've never seen a Chryssalid take more then one swing at one of men, ever. So I just naturally assumed armour did jack squat.
  11. You must be playing the patched verison then. Mine ain't like that, mine has a really messed tech tree, UFO has a easier one. And ya if you go to a mission knock out the required alien then leave, of course it's going to be easy. Heck on the unpatched version on superhuman about the only way to get mag ion armour is to knock out a lobbie navigator(think that's the one) and then haul butt outta the battle, cause if you don't the loss of men is going to be to high.
  12. For colonies there have a been a few instances where after blowing the device and grabbing all the stuff I could get, I find a tentaculite hovering up in some corner. And he doesn't attack.........cause he appears to be stuck. Think there might be bug in like the spawn points of the aliens. So when in doubt, Disruptor Pulse Launch the place. I always go after the device, much more fun and realistic BTW don't you think Disruptor Pulse Launcher is a much cooler name than Blaster Launcher?
  13. Remember; the computer cheats.
  14. I just like plasma guns, in TFTD I try to use guass equipment as long as possible untill I'm forced to change. I just love guass, only problem is having to constantly pump out clips for those things. I always try to weed out the weak minded from my squads and send in limited but strong forces to take out etheral bases
