  1. Ah okay, well I just turned it in and beat the game. Shame I didn't get to see everything though. Oh, one other weird thing, the cinematics in the game are not working for me at all. Both the Game Over and Ending cinematics will not play - it just goes straight back to the menu screen after the "X-Com Defeated" and "Aliens Defeated" screens. The opening cinematic plays fine, but neither of these will work for me. I've got the Steam version and I've tried verifying my cache, but no luck. Any ideas on how to solve this? TftD's cinematics worked fine, and (I'm assuming) UFO Defense didn't have any, so I've no idea what to do.
  2. Ah damn it, I've got no saves from before I destroyed the control chamber. I'm guessing it also stops them from getting new equipment, too, as I haven't come across personal teleporters in any of the battles after destroying it, despite a score of over 70K. I really wish I knew that I could screw myself over so easily. Thanks for the info!
  3. I'm in week 13 on my current save, I've been waiting for many weeks on ultra fast all the way up to week 20. No ship spawns anywhere. I didn't even know there were 2 teleporters! I don't understand why I'm getting no ship spawns, then. I've also noticed that my weekly funding is not being increased anymore, either. It's just staying at 580K~ every time the week rolls over. Is there any way I can use a Hexeditor to make the game spawn UFOs again? I don't want to just cheat and add the research in, but I really don't feel like playing through the entire game again, capturing everything and researching everything again because a bug screwed me over.
  4. So I've nearly finished the game, and I just want to wrap up by finishing off all of the research in the game. I've just captured the Queenspawn, so the Organic Factory (which is supposed to slow down/stop UFOs) is the next building I am to assault. However, UFOs have stopped spawning in the Alien Dimension altogether, and thus never attack the city. I still need to get the Teleporter (which I assume comes from UFOs) and the Overspawn research projects. Have I screwed this up and left it too late, or am I supposed to be getting UFOs still and encountering a bug? Any help would be appreciated.
  5. Are there any at all? I've just got to the Alien Dimension, and I'm curious as to whether I'll be getting more from the Alien buildings by raiding them, as opposed to simply investigating - or if there's simply no difference whatsoever.
  6. Ah, that makes sense. I'm assuming that the Triscene uses the same reference number as the Reaper, and the Xarquid and Hallucinoid have the Sectopod and Cyberdiscs' then. I'm glad to have finally cleared that up. It's so difficult to tell what is intentional and what is a bug in TFTD, as it's riddled with so many of them. Like the bloody examination room being completely unattainable outside of hacking - 9 or 10 Hunters fully cleared before I thought to look that up! Still absolutely loving this game though. Brilliant! Now I think I've finally managed to research everything that is possible to research, I'm gonna have one more little poke around just to make sure and then it's
  7. Thanks for the help! Just came across 2 Triscenes on a ship alongside Tasoths, Aquatoids and land-dwelling Xarquids. Weirdly, I managed to stun one of them, so it appears you can actually stun the various 2x2 units in the game, somehow. Also Tycho, great quote in your signature. What a fantastic series!
  8. Ah, so they won't even appear in Tasoth base defence missions? I knew they only appear on land, but it needs to be mixed crew and a ship terror mission? No wonder I'm having so much trouble finding them.
  9. Thanks for the clarification, fellas, much appreciated. Now if only I could find a bloody Triscene. Fast approaching December 2041, and I've yet to even see one of the buggers!
  10. Ah okay, thanks! Are these the only two uncapturable aliens, or will I not be able to capture Triscenes either? (I've not even encountered them in my game yet and I'm starting to get a little worried it's due to a bug, because I'm already in the 2nd year!) Just out of curiosity, was this an intentional carryover from UFO Defense, or were you supposed to be able to capture every alien this time around, were it not for this "bug"? I only ask because I'm actually able to stun the uncapturable aliens (I'm not sure if you could in UFO Defense, I never tried) and the TFTD research tree on UFOpaedia seems to indicate that they're all capturable, when compared to the UFO Defense research tree, which excludes Sectopod and Cyberdisc Terrorists. Regardless, thank you! Been waiting on completing the game for a few days now as I want all research completed before I turn it in. Much appreciated.
  11. As the title says, I'm having a lot of trouble getting the Xarquid Terrorist and Hallucinoid Terrorist research items to pop up. I've captured a good 5-6 of each of them, live. I've got plenty of store space, and no other captive aliens, so I really don't know what the problem is. Is it similar to UFO's Sectopod and Cyberdisc, in that you cannot capture them but must capture medics? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated, as it's currently driving me mental.
