  1. Well yes, but not every medium/big sized indie company does that outside of the usual beta/alpha testing phases.
  2. Yup I forgot to mention, the game is still alpha but it's already really fun to play. In addition the devs are releasing patches with numerous bug fixes almost every day and are listening to the fans, something I wish more companies did.
  3. Really cool AAR, kind of make me wish I had bought the game back then. I'm seriously considering buying that xcom pack on Steam just for Apocalypse, even though I have the EU and TFTD working great with dosbox.
  4. I recently preordered and I've been enjoying it immensely. Surprised to see it wasn't mentioned on the site (or I missed it, which is unlikely because I visit everyday ), for anyone who hasn't head of it here's the trailer: The official site is over at http://www.starlords-game.com
  5. I am definitely looking forward this. I really like Paradox's dev videos, they are worth 100 gameplay trailers, and 1000 live action trailers (CK2, I'm looking at you).
  6. Yeah civ5 had a few problems though I still enjoyed it. And the dude who designed civ5 is no longer working for firaxis. As far as I know he's at stardock working on the new elemental game so no worries.
  7. I'm not sure what to think. I just hope the aliens aren't all men in black style and they really do use the original monsters and add some new ones. Other than that there's something I don't like about the art style. Too cartoony or too blocky, I can't tell. I would have preferred something more realistic looking but I'm guessing they want the style to be consistent with the xcom fps, which would suck imo.
  8. Wow that was...unexpected. Can't wait to see what comes out of this. If anything, they couldn't have picked a better developer. I also really hope this project is successful, it might be a turning point for the industry. When was the last time we saw a AAA publisher release a turn based squad level game ?
  9. It's not like I don't like Tower defense games, on the contrary. I enjoyed a bunch of flash TD games, as well some more well known ones such as PVZ and revenge of the titans. It's just that I don't see anything revolutionary about this. From the video, it looks like a bog standard TD game with a gimmick (and on top of that it's not exactly new). I can't see how that can be considered revolutionary to anyone.
  10. I see nothing revolutionary about this. A tower defense game where you can move your towers/turrets. How revolutionary.
  11. Nice article, it really managed to spike my interest in the game. To add to it the videos look pretty interesting so far.
  12. Hum... interesting, I would assume most people would play that way, combat mission sort of style.
  13. I'm looking forward to this, even though the last supreme ruler was a bit of disappointment for me. I also think the cold war setting could be used more often for strategy games.
  14. What pausing options do you use ? Usually I play the game with none of the pausing options except for when you encounter an enemy. I think it'd be interesting knowing what combinations you people come up with or if people usually play with the default options.
