    Alien Pact

something like that just happened to me like that with brazil.. Maybe they just HAVE to take one sometimes. :dontgetit:
  3. I just did a terror mission the other day. it was pretty brutal. after I charred the map I took my hovertank out for a patrol and I found a handfull of civilians taking refuge on a roof of a 2 story building.. the aliens made them worry, but when the x-com craft landed they didn't want to take any chances!
  4. for the most part I use tin opener, but only on the big ships.. I don't really send in guys thru the hole.. just more bombs.
  5. I'll have to remember all this next time I play... I think I have a snakeman base waiting around.
  6. I like to give the floaters a lesson in bliztkrieg tactics..
  7. vatican base.. hmmm never thought of that.. I think the nazis tried that too.
  8. I've been using heavy plasme for the most part, but late in the game I'll give my high TU Stormtroopers a laser pistol.. I leave the left hand empty to start so I can just put whatever I want into it without wasting time moving things around.. when dealing with sectoids at close range, to me it adds style to whip out the ol pistola to the back of the head..
  9. Well guys, a few weeks ago I started a new game at veteran diffaculty ( a little out of practice) it's oct 1999 on the game now, and for the last 3-4 months now it has been nothing but muton scouts! except for that muton battleship that wiped out a base before I could blink!! I sure could go for a nice floater misssion.. I haven't seen them yet!! I was wondering.. has any of you guys ever shared a game with someone else? as in having seperate squads/bases?? I just spent thanksgiving with a good x-com chum, and he wanted go get in on my file. Now I'm back home and half of my stuff is all his creation, soldier names, gear. It's kinda neat, but sooner or later there will be no trace of his stuff! hehe.

It takes a long time for me to actually get a soldier worth of the name Imperial Guard. They have to be buff and versitle!!

  12. I take pride in making sure every square inch of the map is glassed, I mean hey it's called a TERROR mission right?

mine are a lot like ya'lls Medic (high time units and stamina)<power suit Stormtooper (seargant with 70+ firing accuracy)<power suit Psi trooper (usually a promoted stormtrooper)<power suit Chunks (heavy weapons)<power suit Imperial Guard (those out of this world super dudes) usually only 1 or 2.. they are the lucky ones with flying suits. everybody else has personal armor, but I fire the ones with less than 60 firing accuracy.....
  14. " A little revolution now and then is healthy" from a movie. I don't mind seeing my team get juiced, just as long as it is every 4-5 missions. I like to hang onto my medics if at all possible, later on they become my "uber soldiers".

I had just bought my first playstation, and my best friend and I were way into renting games. we saw x-com and thought a strategy game would be cool, but we didn't grasp the whole time units and fog of war deal at first and it sat on the floor for a few days. we worked together, and completed a mission. we rented the game for 3 months before actually buying it. we took turns on missions, had our own bases and teams. with no instuction booklet we sort of made up names for everything small scout = chiklet (the square 5 cent gum) meduim scout = cross abductor=big mac harvester=whopper sectoid= greys silacoid=cruton (it's crunchy and rhymes with muton) celatoid=kidney bean ehterial base= massacre reaper= Bjorn (my dog's name) I prefer the sony version, but you have to save the game a lot because itfreezes sometimes. usually on battleship missions. eventually 4 of us would get together and take turns on missions.. but it took a while for my best friend and I to teach others how to play and we refuse to do it anymore.. we had a lot of fun figureing it out, it's better that way. man.. our girlfriends hated it when we played.. there was only one gril that liked to watch.
