I see that there is some recent activity here, so I was wondering if someone could help This is my second AL game, the first one was a long time ago, so I am pretty much learning everything again. One quick question - how do I get Major Driving training? And a more serious question - what is the deal with sniper scopes? The first time I played, I distinctly remember that I was underwhelmed by sniper rifles (compared to AS), so I probably didnt even bother with scopes and major sniper training. Now I want to try, so I built a few computerized scopes and ... nothing. It says in the description that I can put scopes on normal rifles too, not just sniper rifles, and I indeed can, but it doesnt change anything. The accuracy stats are the same for a rifle with and without the scope. Even though other things that I have that affect rifles, e.g. an accelerator, accuracy armor add-on or different ammo, do affect the accuracy, range, damage in the info window. What about sniper scopes? I thought maybe it will manifest itself in the field, so I gave a guy a modded and unmodded rifles, but his accuracy is the same with either rifle. I thought maybe he needs the sniper training to take advantage of the scope, even though he can use a scoped rifle without any training, so I gave both rifles to someone with the training and still no difference. So what is the matter? Sniper scopes work only for sniper rifles, even though they can be mounted on regular ones? And it seems like there are no other add-ons for the top mount? Like movement finder or IR in AS? And a related question about sniper training. In the description for Minor Sniper training, it says it reduces aiming time for aimed shots. Is it for sniper rifles only, or all aimed shots? It doesnt specify. Thanks a lot. I hope someone can reply

  3. I guess I wont risk it then. Of course it can happen that if I beat the cultists, the base will still belong to starghosts, but I dont want to spend time finding out I did rescue the Reticulans. I have had a few Pillar of Death missions and have researched Pillar of Death autopsy already. My team is way above 10th level, which is the highest level recruit you can get from other factions with the best relationship with them. I just do it for fun now. I could just rush through to the end, doing the rare starghost missions and waiting for the research to be done, but I have been building my team for awhile, and now I just want to have some fun action .
  4. Thank you, Eriss. I understand how leader bonus is supposed to work. The glossary description says that leader's enemy skill is used if a soldier's enemy skill is less than leader's one. I was just curious how he got 80% damage bonus, or rather in general how much more damage does 1 additional level of Enemy skill do? Also, I calculated yesterday and I can confirm that with Damage Circlet psionic around, you deal 20% more damage.
  5. I have a question regarding bases that belong to starghosts. At some point in game, one of my bases turned yellow and switched to starghosts. There was no failed mission there, nothing. I think it was a triggered event in the game. I understand that I cannot recapture the base. But lately I have been keeping myself entertained by fighting cultists all the time. There is no new research or manufacturing anymore, just Laputan research which takes forever and this is also a good way to level up my soldiers. Anyway, sometimes when I capture the last cultist's base, one of the respawned cultists' bases is that particular base which belongs to starghosts. My question is - does that starghost base have any importance? Would the game be unfinishable, like the last Cultist base bug, if I retake the Cultist base spawned over the Starghost and it happens to be under my control now, not back to Starghosts? Will there be any key missions in it in the future? Right now, I am researching "Putting pieces together" or whatever it is called, there is no other research. Ive researched all Starghost autopsies, including the Death Pillar.
  6. I was wondering about the same thing. I got a leader only for the bonus to enemy skill, and my soldiers deal the same damage with or without the leader in the vicinity. So does anyone have any confirmation of this? BTW how did you get 80% estimate? Is it 16% per each level above Average? As to the OP's question about psionics' equipment, the ones I use seem to work. TrueShot vambraces show additional LongRange level when on. I noticed when they have the Protection Collar one, my soldiers have an icon showing that they have 1.3 bonus to Psi defense, and even 1.69 bonus when two psionics are around. But then again, they also have an icon when a leader is around, so who knows. As for the Damage Collar, it does give a bonus damage - I tested it. Just need to test more if 2 collars give a multiplied effect. Hard to test in the battle, I tested that on the pillars of death - harmless and plenty of health to take . edit: I meant protection collar, not cloak one.
  7. how can i put add-ons on armor? the compose menu in the storage tab doesnt list any armor, just weapons. do i need some special research completed in order to use armor add-ons? although i can already produce some armor add-ons. or do i need the armor that can actually have add-ons installed? what is that slot in the equipment menu which is at about shoulder height? i tried to put stuff in it, but it didnt work. is is to display what kind of add-on is installed in this armor?
  8. up to this point i was increasing attributes following training requirements, but now i would like to know which attributes affect certain skills the most? the game only shows which skills are affected. so how many points each attribute contributes to skills?
  9. just noticed that on of my bases has a border outlined in yellow. what does it mean? i had a red outline recently when the base was under attack, but that is kind of self-explanatory.
