  1. Im surprised this game was so panned by reviews. I prefer H&S to Silent Storm from a rounded game point of view. i love the RPG side of the game as its hard work and reminds me of old-school RPGs which gave you few clues and left you to figure things out on your own through trial and errror. I've now played through the first 3 maps twice taking about 7 hours yesterday. I scrapped my first game after i realised i'd left Sander's without medical treatment for too long and then she died, so i went back and replayed so i could get her in my squad. Anyways im pleased i ignored the mainstream reviews and instead listened to some user reviews, many olf which were contrarian to the poor reviews. All I can say is i hope Novik & Co are working on new games because he and his team have some real talent at creating proper dangerous RPG environments for gamers who like a challenge. Just wanted to offer my congrats as i know he hangs on this forum sometimes, and it would be a pity if he let the myopic reviews stop him continuing making great games. Ignore the idiot reviews.
  2. I'm having the same problem on that mission, and even worse the game keeps crashing on that map once i am inside the estate. But i also noticed that the mission is not rated as priority (flashing) on the game map, and i have 2 other German based missions left to do, one of them is flashing so i am going to try doding that mission first then come back to the Bauer mission and see if order of missions has anything to do with the clue showing up. Its pretty annoying but hey its a bloody fun game when its no misbehaving.
  3. My problem is not finnishing games, hence why i try not to have too many around at the same time. I'll quit a game once i feel i know it so well that it stops being a challenge. It could be the greatest game in the world but i still end it. I prefer beginnings to endings. Also i have become depressed at the end of some games which had such a fabulous universe which i did not want to leave :-) Morrowind was a bit like that.
  4. Yes thats correct. Think about it, no two things ever happen exactly simultaneously, even in real-time. For instance in a "real-time" shooter, the enemies react to the PC coming into their radar range, noticing them, and then taking counter-measures. It may appear as its happening in real-time but that is an illusion. In fact the real-world also operates on tiny small incremental steps as proven by quantum theory. Look at time, it does not flow smoothly (as we perceive it), hence many phycists today doubt whether time actually exists as a seperate phenomenom from space. mkay? Just to add, we dont even know what the smallest unit of time or space comprises of. The current theory is that a planck length might be the smallest measurable unit but we cant measure because it so small :-)
  5. You see, you are too happy with your real life to escape into computer games, you should be celebrating. I go off games now and then too, espcially when i cant find anything stimulating. Its good to take a break as when you are ready to play games again there may be some worth the time.
  6. Thanks for the links, I may play with the editor and see how it goes. Personally i dont see whats wrong with TB games. Everything is turn based depending how granular your focus :-) Still i liked what Bethesda did with FO3, with the paused Vats system and that is more or less TB if you use it alot. Same with Mass Effect 2 etc...
  7. Well I class myself as hopelessly addicted to PC games but i have never spent that much in one month :-) I find you can get alot of games really cheap right now. Just bought Hammer & Sickle for
  8. Hi all, I just joined since this appears to be the best internet forum on SS and derivative games. Okay i love this game and probbaly havent loved a game like this since UFO EU and TFTD, Fallout 1 & 2, and Jagged Alliance games. But what really surprises me is that someone has not done much more with the SS engine. I know there are a couple other games using SS engine but they appear to have terrible reviews. In any case i just bought Hammer & Sickle off play.com for
