  1. fireworks. aliens also celebrate new year. and the reaon you never saw one is they already blew it up in flight.
  2. tihis is a sasquatch thread. it appears and disappears, nobody is shure if it really exists and all videos are shaky and you can barely make out hairy things. (hum...so the sasquatch movies could just be some sixties porno...)
  3. I think you could actually order it the normal way. I think by now the actual game price shouldn't exceed the shipping to far.
  4. The only thing I may add to this is that I absolutly love apoc.
  5. I'd say ethereals because....nah you all know the reasons and they're posted here a hundred times. hum...onc I had this woman wasting three cyberdisks in a warehouse just with a normal rifle. ok it was in easy mode and I used reload imortallity but at least it proves that it can be done.
  6. As far as I'm concerned the enzyme damaged my units directly wehn it got trough their suits.
  7. Yes to me too, but they say they want to use it to makes crowds disappear. (wrong word I know, but I didn't know the vocab. But I thing you can get the meaning.)
  8. I normally build plasma tanks, because they can be used in close combat and neyr of my men also. Just like alex does just my eggheads get blaster launchers.
  9. I said terror. Ufo was challenging and apoc in real time was fun, but not very hard. BUT TFTD! Sonic pistols killing with one hit, lobstermen, bidrones, tentaculants, giant maps AND EVERY TIME THAT F*****G LAST ALIEN IN THESE BLOODY CONTAINER SHIPS!! I really hate last aliens.
  10. I normally secure every entrance of an ufo with one or two of my men while the rest sweeps the surrounding area. When the area is clear, I storm the ufo, securing every passage by a team of two before I send through another team to secure the end of the passage. Then the first team gets in front of the first and so on. I seldom use normal and alien grenades. When I got one and it's usefull in the situation when not, I don't care and use guns. I never use smoke-, proxy nades and rocket launchers im just doing well without them. But I absolutly love blaster launchers.
  11. really? But I think this could be just an impression produced by the position of reporting journalists and the camera angle. They normally stand behind the police lines so on the tapes you see the backs of two or three officers and twenty or more rioters/protestors. But I'm not well informed about recent uk history so maybe they just didn't had that experience of massive protests and streetfights in the 60's 70's and 80'S. But to get back on topic. I've read for usage in iraq theyre also developing a microwave device that causes some kind of sunburn.
  12. Hmm I'll add some of my experiencesto this thread. First the police often outnumbers the protestors/rioters. At least here in germany. (Example: Last year on the antirassistic noborder camp in cologne they used 1200 officers in riot gear, two waterguns (is this the english word?), a ground fire fight device and a Räumpanzer (something like a heavy armoured bulldozer) to storm a camp with 800 peacefull people in it.) Throwing the Teargas back is normally no problem for the police forces because they have gas masks. ( But german police is more into circling&hitting anyway.) The main problem is it's flight direction cant be controlled. If the cloud hits the protesters/rioters they run, but it often doesn't. So it has much "collateral dammge" in urban areas. Also you can protect yourself quite well&easy from it. (I won't say how so that the admins get no legal issues.) Another one is that teargas makes aggressive and has that beating a hornets nest effect. And rubber bullets are really tough shit. The foot of a person I know was completly ruined by them, when it was hit by four in a chain. But this is all better than catching you a real bullet.
  13. hum...When I go to a base I bring loads of blasterbombs and a hovertank with me. The hover tank scouts and two or three blaster people nuke everything from the elevators. Early in the game, when blaster bombs are not avilable, I just let my squad, normally 6-8 men, move in a group and have a group of two secure every passageway leading to the groups position. (But getting through this bunker in which the control-room is, is quite anoying without blaster bombs.)
  14. BLASTER LAUNCHERS ALL THE WAY!!! I'm a addict to the tactic jellyfishgreen stated above. And blaster Launchers are great all purpose weapons. (If you have atleast two guys equipped with them and nothing but bombs) Cleraing LZ: Let your other guys shoot any alien right in front of the exit of your landing vehicel, than nuke the surrounding area. (Does even a better job than smoke nades) Long range combat: Just nuke them. In building combat. Leave building, nuke it. Close combamt: You just don't get into close combat. Except when you are in a landed ufo and want to save the power units. For any other purpose have a hover tank scout out the area, and when it spots an alien nuke it from the other side of the map. Alien base: Stay in the elevators and nuke it. (Have a tank scouting) Terror mission: Nuke around. Watch out a bit that you don't kill too much civlians. I absolutly love that things. And for defending my own base and around intact power units I use heavy plasma.
  15. I normally use avalanche/stingray or dual avalanche in the early game. Because the cannon has such a short range, my interceptors get often destroyed when trying to down a ufo with it.
