#123729 Jagged Alliance : Flashback (Prequel)

When it comes to Tbs games (Turn Based Strategy) only XCOM ranks higher than Jagged Alliance on my list. Therefore I feel it's befitting to add this topic to the games forum. Thorondor has already submitted some JA news located in the "Other gaming news" section of Strategy Core. You can click here for that.

Keep in mind this is a Kickstarter type funding based game. Posted Image
So it's up to you and me to contribute to this games intial birth of development.

"Heading to Kickstarter next week, where it will have a target of $350,000" (USD)

I don't find that the amount is a very lofty goal considering the success of other Kickstarters I've personally contributed to;
Torment : Tides of Numenera which generated ($3 Million) & Wasteland 2 which damn near generated ($3 Million).
The Kickstarter for JA Flashback will reportedly start next week. (I'll post a link when available)

I am aware that the last series of JA was disappointing not only to myself but many other people as well. (check the metacritcs for Back in Action and Crossfire) We should contribute to this Kickstarter and be watching the developments with bated breath.

I've now completed the game. (I won't give any spoilers)

I've run into several bugs, (mainly camera issues) My system crashed to desktop only once or twice but was stable. There were several times either I or the interface, my guess is the place makers cost me several rookies. I must insist if you are playing this game on a PC to USE the Q&E Keys or whatever binding you've set it to. You'll save yourself a lot of headaches. Overall I enjoyed this game and if I had to rate it 1-5, 5 being the highest I'd give it a 3 1/2. Until the bugs are fixed it will remain a 3 1/2.

So now I'm going to try something slightly INSANE! I am going to attempt to play a run through with...get this...
Difficulty - Impossible, Iron Man enabled, Autosaves OFF, & the zinger, I will not upgrade my squad. That's right folks; I'm going to attempt this feat with a 4 man squad.
(By upgrading I mean of course paying the money to expand my squad size, I don't mean upgrade the soldiers skill/perks that would be just stupid.) Wish me Luck.

If anyone enjoys Adventure games. Take a look here at these remakes of the classic Kings Quest. (They're FREE)

Well I just pre-ordered the "Special Edition" of XCOM (box) which costs me $68 (USD) I hope it was worth it....otherwise I hold nostalgia & Strategycore responsible :)

VIA Special Edition Version
  • Soldier Deco packs: Players can customize their soldier with several aesthetic upgrades to armor suits including the new Hyperion and Reaper soldier armor kits
  • Complete color customization: A variety of colors and tints for all armor sets in the game allow players complete control to customize their squad's look.
I wonder why they don't have helmets...or hats! I'd like to make a big burly guy with a Mississippi accent with a strawhat and a shot gun....name him Bubba.
