  1. the mod is great at the beginning. i personally had to use the supplied iron poles in one mission, couse i managed to run out of reticulan batteries. but later on in the wargot phase the game starts to get a bit boring. by the time i had my soldiers equipped with some good assault rifles and heavy armor i stopped using all my man, couse it took one trooper to roam the map and kill all wargots.. so what he was showered with bullets when after hes job was done he had lost maybe half temporary hp and recived few permanent damage, nothing a 2-3 hour nap wouldnt fix. i was wondering if making better armours actually give a bit less bonus to defence would help - player would still have to watch out where hes ordering his man to go even when they have better armor. or maybe make weapons deal more permanent damage. this way players would have to watch out even more not to get hit too hard and maybe even make use of the possibility to have few squads and use different team when the last used is recuperating? it would also slow down leveling what in my opinion would be nice, becouse lvl 3 trooper/heavy gunner is like immortal.
  2. the mod is great!! i wanted to make my own mod, to rebalance some things and make gameplay more demanding. but your mod has everything i wanted and much more. im gonna drop my project and wait for You to finish this masterpiece cultists really can tear your soldiers apart in matter of seconds. Love the idea of cyborg-only weapons but they need blancing imo didnt go as far to have all chipsets and such but a heavy gunner/technician cyborg couldnt kill a wargot scout using the cyborg minigun becouse the huge recoil. after few shots chances of hitting the target drop to 0% even if you stand like 3 meters to the target. I think You have to look into this. and i couldnt find how to make underbarell weapons. got few messages during game that i can research these, but couldnt find them. dont know if i made something wrong or was this a bug (fixed in 0.91 maybe? - didnt try it yet) rest is great - new models, new sounds, new enemy equipment - great! ^^
  3. hi guys. im writing becouse i see that some ppl still play this game. i have some ideas, and ill probably need some help in the future. im new to this game, just discovered it a couple of days ago. played the clean version for like a day and then came across the mod section on this forum. love the WeaponRebalance mod and few others like Heroic Assault. after playing the game for some time it tends to get boring tho. i hate the wargots. it comes to just lining your men and shooting every wargot that come in sight with quick bursts.. you dont have to worry about getting hit, becouse by this time your men have 4000 hp, heavy armours and weapons with addons which in total gives you like 130% chance of hitting the target - lame. the game is most interesting on the start. when you have crappy equipment, no armours, limited ammo, and no addons. then you have to think, take cover, aim to preserve ammo, run if ur injured. my idea for the mod is to make the gameplay more realistic and harder. -for example (and thats what i've already done(like the effect so far)) making the weapons less accurate. and by love of god making weapon addons less effective. for example gyrostabilizer originally gives a 15% bonus to accuracy, i changed it to 5% (its not much but if you combine it with recoil compensator or such then your accuracy is getting even better). and if you think about it the gyrostabilizer or even a grenade launcher and such could decrease the recoil of a weapon (by lets say 2-4%(?)), becouse it adds weight to the weapon thus making it steadier. what ya think about this? -becouse your weapons are less accurate i was thinking about making them more effective. more like in real life. i guess it hurts alot when u take a bullet. id change the power of weapons like + 20-40% (it would probably take the same time to kill en enemy becouse of the decreased accuracy). but it would look more fun (im testing the different configs to get the desired effect. so far made the explosives give lotsa damage and lotsa stun dmg - you dont want to get hit by a rocket or you might not live to see another day gonna have to use sniper/spotter to kill the guy with a rocket louncher, or use stealth commando to get close and run like hell when the jobs done ;P) -i already did alter the numbers of enemies you encounter. the number vary from 5-15 mutants 10-20 cultists in cultis assault missions. and even 20-40 custist when you try to take their base. its hard, but not impossible you just have to make use of things like stealth(silencers started to be useful, becouse you dont want to let all 40 culstist know where you are ;p), cover, crouch and prone position are good, and so on. oh, and ur doomed if u run out of ammo -and, i used the term total convesion, becouse i "deleted" the wargots and starghosts from the game. i made reticulans show instead in much bigger numbers( dont think fighting 30 of them is easy and they act like the wargots for example after the laputa assault mission (where u fight lots of reticulans, they will help cultists like wargots did. (i really didnt like the wargots. first of all their cartoonish look, and the fact theyr only strenght lied in their health points. u had to fire a burst, drop the wargot to the ground and when hes down, his like already dead just have to fire 20000000 more rounds to kill him) -oh and i just got another idea im going to make sniper rifle useless without sniper scope. ill make them less acurate, so theyll be usful only on shorter range, only a bit better then assault rifles. and make the sniper scope add lots of accuracy, so u will need one to make use of a sniper rifle. ideas for the future: -(dont know how to do that and if it is possible, but i want to decrease number of hit points added per hp lvl or perk like lvl 2 gunner) 4000hp is just overpowered compared to basic 1000 on clean character. -(since u only play against cultists and reticulans (sometimes mutants) want to make them harder with time. is it possible to make them use same more basic equpment at start and then when the game progresses make them use better eq? or is it possible to make the game generate more enemies per map with time? -want to make machine guns work like machine guns. (and other weapons for that matter which does work like that: talking about full auto mode. tried it with one machinegun so far and it did work, but not exactly as i expected. the soldier did stop fireing when he was out of ammo or when the enemy was dead or when u told him to, but recoil is the problem. chances of hitting drop to 0% after few shots if i give little recoil then it works, but the shots have almost identical chances of hitting the target - would have to make the weapon only usable from prone position (with bipod) these guns have built in bipods dont they? P.S. ShadoWarrior, You dont mind if i use Your rebalance mod and alter it? (love the new stuff You added)
