  1. How can i find out what version I am playing with? LMr.
  2. Thanks guys, lickly i'm playing beginner so half of my guys made it and cleared the base of aliens. Operatives found an alien base so off i go! LMr.
  3. Is there somewhere i can post the save file for all you guys to check? LMr.
  4. Hmm, interesing, but nope there were no doors at all! All i could see was steps to go up, and even upstairs there were no doors to go into the next module. What about modules under construction, could that have effected it? Also i notice that even though i had tons of weapons in store, i only got acess to some during the base defence. Furthermore i had accedd to weapons that i have not even researched their use yet! Strange. LMr.
  5. Hi, Anybody encounter this, but during an alien attack of my base a full half of my 20 soldiers were stuck in various rooms with out any means to enter into the main area where the hanger or acess lift is. Some of them were in like the lab or workshops. They could go up or down, but could not leave that area. Why is that and anybody else has this issue? Thanks LMr.
  6. Formally being in the army myself, i've always wondered X-com does not have an option for a prone position, ie lying on the chest propped on the elbows. To me thats the most accurate firing position. It would be cool for such a pose for those using sniper tactics. I would love for such a function in the new remakes to improve accuracy but give up TUs in getting up. LMr.
  7. I actually though up a tactic, not really sure if it really is one but: I'll keep a core or say 2 captains, 4 sergeants (mixed 2 snipers, 2 troopers), 2 Hvy weapons of a total of 8 vets, then flesh out the remaining 4-6 with rookies/squaddies and a rotating scout/bomber (always gets killed!). What do you guys think? LMr.
  8. Thats interesting, you could then hier like 70 rookies, send all your sergeants on missions and come back all captains and then sack all the rookies and have a squad of captains! Not sure what the advantage would be though....
  9. Hi all, I reciently re-descovered xcom again and was happy to find this huge community of fans! This is also my first post. Now i was reading in the instruction booklet about the amount of soldiers you need before promotions. This is what happened to me: This is what i had to start: Base 1 1 Captain 3 Sergeants 4 Squaddies 2 Rookies Base 2 2 Squaddies 4 Rookies Before i went on a UFO crash mission, i ordered/purchased 10 soldiers and not delivered. Went to the mission with troops of base 1, shot up hella lot of aliens... When i came back there were many promotions, i now had: Base 1 1 Colonel 2 Captains 6 Sergeants 1 Squaddie How is this possible when you get a colonel with 23 soldiers? Does this mean soldiers in transit (in my case 10) and soldiers in all bases (this case 15) all add up in the promo calculation? Thanks!
