  1. Nearly a year on and I've come back to this project. I'd really appreciate some guides on how to add new icons and encyclopedia entries.
  2. To save my disks, I tend to use No-DVD cracks and I found them to actually boost the level loading times dramatically in UFOAM.
  3. From what I've experienced magazines are completely replenished after returning to base. It's very handy early on when you find that magical G36 in the first half hour but you only have two or three magazines. Fire the weapon until there is only one bullet left, reload and repeat. When the chopper gets back to base the magazines are refilled. I also find that occaisonally new magazines appear from no where. But that shooting technique, hmm. In my overhaul of AM I'm planning, I'm going to remove infinite limits on items so that won't be possible.
  4. I only tested it with a Cudgel on the last bar of health. Maybe it's relative to total damage done and the difficulty of the creature. I know when you start gunning down Rets and high tech Transgenants the EXP floods in for a few levels.
  5. I was just playing around in AM and to answer your question, killing an enemy rather than leaving them incapacitated offers you a little bit more EXP. I saved the game before leaving a combat area after leaving a critically wounded enemy and left, recorded the overall exp then reloaded and killed the creature before leaving. I got an extra 10 EXP, all in all, any experience is good.
  6. Is there anyway I can add more item slots to the inventory screen? I'd like to make a six sqaure box as a holster on the characters' leg. Like (excuse the poor example): o|-|-|o Where a handgun can be the four squares and two spare magazines can be held as well. AND if that is possible, is there a way to lock it so only a handgun and it's ammunition can be placed there? Or would it simply be user honestly if it could be implemented?

  9. Ah alright. I thought it had something to do with sound/light as I always end up spotting a Reticulan just as they fire their rocket launcher and such.   10. Hey guys, I'm planning on doing an enhancement project to UFO:AM - my favourite game from the series - updating weapon and player models and adding extra weapons and such. I see these forums have several tutorials that I am yet to test out for myself on modding UFO: AM but I need some further details before I fully commit to it. (Plus I need to play through it again and make notes on what I want to improve) What I'd like to is the following: Is there a limit to how many weapons the game can support? I've been part of a mod team on the game Brigade E5 and it's sequel 7,62mm and there was a limit to the number of firearms we could add along with the defaults Is there a way to have an assault rifle and a grenade launcher function as a single weapon or any similar set up like a Master Key? Can I make it so weapons can share the same magazine type? Like AR-15/STANAG, AKM, etc. magazines. What polycounts does the game support in regards to weapons and characters? Are suppressors a viable idea? Can gunshots be given a lower noise rating in game to decrease the shooters likelihood to be noticed? Also, is there a way to add new weapons and items to the enclypedia? Any answers to these questions would be appreciated. Cheers, Fall.
  11. I don't have a portfoilio like most people as I ain't looking for a job in the industry, I just do it for something to do. Anyway here's my current work in progress, it's a Remington 870 shotgun with a Mesa Tactical rail and stock adaptation kit. The stock is a newly released Magpul UBR and I've still got to make the front and rear flip up sights along with a shotshell holder and... a bayonet. http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/4135/8702lx2.jpg Polycount at that stage was around 6,800 triangles, at the moment the bolt and breech area is almost done (I'm making some of the internals to make a nice and detailed background for my PC) I could try and dig up some older work but I don't model all that often with work and such.

  15. G'day everyone, I'm just hoping these forums are still frequented enough to help me. I'm a 3D modeler in my spare time as a hobby and I've been playing Silent Storm since the beginning and I've played Sentinals, Hammer & Sickle and even Night Watch. But what I really want to do is replace the default models of at least the first game for starters and adding a whole new array of weapons left out of the other games from the period. I'm talking about new and improved weapons models and textures and a high probability of retexturing the old player models or even brand spanking new models of player models depending on how commited I become in this project. The problem is I need to know if it is at all possible to do these things and if so, how to do them. I would have asked sooner but the idea had been pushed to the back of my mind for nearly two years with several important family issues and my completion of school and all those other problems with growing up. D= So can anyone here help me? I love the games, I just think they could do with an overhaul these days and some more weapons and player models - I really want some Fallschirmj
