  1. Hi @Bomb Bloke Sadly im getting an error when using this extractor on saucer.pck
  2. Many thanks Zombie, no apart from the removal of Beta1 multiplayer functionality due to desynchs there is little functional difference between Beta1 and Beta2. Most of the stuff that is different are in the form of PCK files that were no longer in use but included in the Beta1 distribution in the same way the long defunct planet.pck was still included in Beta2. That said if you do have ANYTHING earlier than Beta 2 then it will greatly help the OpenApoc project.
  3. @makus thanks for asking this. Hopefully we'll get results that can assist with OpenApoc Just an update on .exe modified dates for those versions (i've booted up my disk with the damaged copies on) Beta 2 - 12th/6/1997 - Uniform date across all components Beta 1 - A mix of dates ranging from 23/3/1997 through 20/4/1997 Debug - Dates starting 14/12/1996 through 11/2/1997 It's worth noting that the "Apocalypse Cheats" were only for these versions and were "leaked" on to the web during development. We were never meant to see them. Indeed the original cheats file explicitly states they were never to be shared outside of Microprose/Mythos. The "Debug" version is the holy grail. It was the last version with most of the semi-implemented features present. Things started to be cut-out from Beta1 The main difference between Beta1 and Beta2 is the removal of multiplayer due to synch issues (peer-peer) Beta1 used to crash every few minutes if i recall correctly whether in MP or SP. By Beta2 that crash had just become the black prompt that appears all the time... Never knew what it was...
  4. Hi all, I'm new to the strategy core forums so i hope this is the correct place to post this. I have a UFO:AL Savegame that i need to edit to remove some 1500 drones from my forces (tinkering/cheating with the console created them ), having unpacked the VFS file i am now clueless as to where to find all the drones to remove them, let alone how to simply strip them from my savegame (I don't want any of them) Or even better is there a way to trash/sell these drones in-game to save me having to edit... Unfortunately it has now got to the stage that i cannot save a game or continue with the existing save game as UFO:AL crashes on autosave (presumably due to the sheer number of drones in my forces) so i need rid of them. To be honest I'm not even sure why they are there, i never intentionally added them, i think it may have just been a by-product of adding more resources via the console, either way the game is now virtually unplayable, i just don't want to have to start all over again. If it's any use i can provide a copy of the save upon request Any one who could give me a step-by-step procedure to remove all these robots from my team i would be thankful for your help. Cheers Jacob NOTE: Since found someone with the same problem on the ALTAR Forums, so here's the link for my post there... Hopefully someone will be able to help both of us with this, if you reply here please notify this other user cheers http://forum.altargames.com//index.php?act...st=0#entry61037
