  1. YES! Worked fine; thank you, Zombie!
  2. well, obviously no one seems to know anything about this problem. meanwhile i found out, i can transfer from any base to 1st, 3rd, 5th and 7th base, but cannot transfer to 2nd, 4th, 6th and 8th base. all the stuff transferred to them goes to base 1. so what i do is use an editor for my savegames on every 1st of the month to move stuff from and to bases 2-4-6-8. Only thing that really bothers me is not being able to transfer soldiers that way. Hence my question: Thank you for your time; greetz, gogoland2002
  3. hi there, have another problem w/ my game. just wanted to transfer some elerium from 1st to 2nd base and everything worked out fine - i thought! the transfer-window works just fine, i get the message with the transfer-costs and send it on its way. the money is substracted from my savings. but on the transfer-information screen of base2 there is nothing! in fact, the stuff totally vanished from the game, since it's not on the transfer-info-screen of any of the other bases either! nevertheless, after i think i lost the elerium for good, it reaches base1 [from where it started] out of nowhere, after exactly the time it would have taken to reach base2! i have tried this with another old savegame, same result. i even edited a completely new game so that i could try it on january 1st before anything else happened - same result. so this seems to be a problem w/ the game-files?! i'm using ufo eu v1.4 dos (updated from v1.0) & in dos-box v0.65 & xcomutil v9.60, but have tried it w/o xcomutil, too. always the same problem?! same thing when using the unpatched v1.0 version of the game. thanks for your time! greetz, gogoland2002
  4. howdy, with the help of some of you guys I finally got XComUtil running w/ my dos_v1_4-version of UFO EU. After going through XCuSetup and activating some features I started a game and had the 1st combat-mission after a couple of hours. Everything worked just fine; alternate starting base, stat-stings in names and so on... only problem: After combat I seem to be getting after-combat messages, but can't read them. Have a look for yourself (see attachment). XComUtil.log says: any idea how i get to see those messages? are that the same messages as the ones above taken from xcomutil.log? i am using dosbox v0.65 and ufo eu dos v1.4 w/ xcomtuil v9.6 on win xp sp2. if neccessary i can post my dosbox.conf, but havent actually changed anything from standart. thank you for your time! greetz, gogoland2002
  5. deleted my old savegames and restartet. haven't reseached heavy lasers and used any tanks yet. will look that up as soon as possible.. i understood that. in the xcomutil.txt it says "This enables the display of messages between the tactical and world views to report AutoCombat results and any research help acquired by capturing aliens" though. thus i thought since i have research-help turned on and captured some aliens i should get to see the info between battle and worldview. all i see is the normal afterbattle-report. aah, okay. got that. must have misunderstood the xcomutil.txt on that point. thanks for your time! greetz, gogoland2002
  6. Thank you, NKF. I wonder why some of the XComutil-features activated through xcusetup don't work w/ my version then. any idea? 1. Activated, but in Ufopedia all have the same values as when i start the game w/o XComutil. 2. Both activated, but all I see is, that research takes much more time. 50 scientists are working almost 9 weeks on heavy plasma now. Besides, I capture aliens on almost any mission and never get to see any of those messages after combat, or ever have the impression it has any effect on the research-speed. [i do kill soldiers w/ grenades, when "accidently" capturing them.] 3. I'm not sure about this option: Do you want stat strings added to the names of your troops? (Y) What i thought it would do, is add some stat-strings to the screen, when i individually equip the soldiers one by one directly before combat, which is not happening. But maybe i misunderstood?! 4. These other activated options seem to be working alright: Do you want rank indicators added to the names of your troops? (Y) Do you want their number of kills added to the names of your troops? (Y) Do you want your troops automatically sorted before combat? (Y) Do you want to automatically re-equip your troops before combat? (Y) Do you want to fight all battles in daylight? (N) Do you want to randomize alien ship floorplans before each battle? (N) Do you want the random ships to have random shapes? (Y) Thanks for your input and your time! Any ideas? greetz, gogoland2002
  7. thanks, guys. i will try to find such a version then.
  8. hi there, just found this forum about three weeks ago, started playing again after ~8 years and profited a lot from all your threats and all the info on the pages in here. a big THANKS to all of you for all the input you gave! after two long-time campaigns and some hex-editing i wanted to increase difficulty w/ xcomutil. after playing a bit and some reading in the forums and in the info of xcomutil i found out, the only way to make full usage of xcomutil is to use a dos-version. i have an windows-version v1.4, and now wanna get a dos version. problem is: how do i identify a dos-version. is there a special file-size or filenames used? does anyone know details? would be greatly appreciated. thx for your time! greetz gogoland2002
