  1. I just tried the demo, it works fine and looks AWESOME! This is the coolest 'non-professional' X-Com project I've ever seen. Good luck with this, it would be a dream come true to play a 'modern' X-Com. Oh, and while you're fiddling about with it can we get a difficulty level that is easier than, 'Your guys are all morons who couldn't hit an elephant in a phone booth and they are surrounded by big Aliens with Huge guns'? Thanks.
  2. 1) It says to use patch 1.3. I'm thinking that's an old readme that pre-dates 1.4? So does anyone know if this works with 1.4? 2) Ok, I unzip the file and get a 68_mod.vfs file. What do I DO WITH THAT FILE????? Do I have to extract it, do I have to put it somewhere, what's the story? thanks for any info.
  3. Starforce appears to be a dying beast, and not a minute too soon. I'm told it WILL NOT work with Vista, so there's yet one more reason companies are ditching it. (I think the wrecking your hardware and operating system was enough of reason, but what do I know?) Has the Afterlight publisher commented on this yet? -M
  4. I just saw the new gameplay video's and trailers and am very impressed. This has possibilities. HOWEVER..... The first game was great until it got INSANELY HARD. Yes, seven Reticulans with Rocket Launchers just took out my squad in 3 seconds. When the aliens sued for peace, I said, 'sure, I'm sick of this'. So, pretty short game. The 2nd game got such bad reviews for the same problem I didn't even try it (plus I will NOT buy any game with starforce). It seems every game company screws up the difficulty level, again, and again, and again. Look at the huge critical and commercial success the Wii is having. People are sick to death of games that CHEAT and beat them over the head with a tire iron. I sure hope this game avoids that 'difficulty level increases through the roof' problem. -M
